Project Plan: Goalmap

Our Mission: Our mission is to provide people with a collective intelligence co-creation platform that channels their efforts into valuable progress on the pursuit of their goals. Our Vission: In our vision, we see People: Using our software freely. Sharing their personal goals. Sharing their approach to achieving those goals, as steps. Counseling those who use their steps to avoid known mistakes. Promoting steps that were helpful for them. Helping in maintaining a respectful, honest environment. Key Values: Anonymity Freedom Equality Trust Community Collaboration Usability Company Name: Goalmap (open to suggestions) Members: Alejandro Matias Nagy Why this members?: Large web development experience and enthusiasm for new technology and tools make our founding partners the perfect match for Goalmaps Mission and Vision. Objectives: Short term objectives: Have an increasing number of mentions in social networks and reach the 2.000 daily hits mark Mid term objectives: Generate revenue from advertising making the site self sufficient. Long term objectives: Continue development of the site under a membership model to provide extensive tools for the user to plan and manage its goals. Maintain free model

for the normal usage, and paid model for extensive tool access. Expand the site capabilities to capture subscribers from the free users.

What is the concept?: Is the collaborative access to information regarding a topic of your interest, in an organized fashion and with possibilities to quantify each contribution. If youve always dreamed of becoming the next Minister of Education for your country but you have no idea how that could happen, someone else somewhere in the country might have dreamt of it too, and it might have already taken a few steps. If more than one did, then you have several different paths. Do they all agree that you MUST first be a teacher to get to Minister?. If so, that objective is high value and priority (all users with that dream share it). Some recommended objective makes no sense?, is it garbage information placed with ill intentions?, cast a downvote and see it vanish into oblivion so that it doesnt get in the way of others. You will hold your own roadmap, which will be fed by all users on the platform that share your dream. How many times did you said I wish I couldve known that earlier, so I wouldnt waste my time doing that?. Now you can. When it comes to your goals, theres no time to waste on useless actions that take you nowhere closer to it. Time is the only currency that you cant recover. We want to make sure you dont waste yours. We help you connect the dots, making sure theyre the right dots at the right time. What is the Product/Service provided?: A collaborative collective intelligence environment to lead all efforts in the pursuit of a goal. We provide a platform where you can find the best way to get from A to B, optimizing your time and strength and minimizing the trials and errors. Who will your customers be?: Every internet user around the world with a goal, and no clear path to achieving it.

Our Business Model Canvas: Customer Segments: Mass market. Anyone with a goal and a need to organize the effort to achieve it can use our platform. Value propositions: In a first stage, we offer a collective intelligence knowledge base, with a friendly interface to access it and use it for the benefit of our user. We are helping our user organize and focus his effort into productive steps to achieve a goal. In a second stage we intend to develop a lower level, more detailed planning platform for each of the steps. Adding depth to the user toolbox on a membership model. Well provide means to make detailed registry of the progress on each step, maintain notes, checklists, and other features that will help the user with a clear view of the status of each step and the goal in general.

As for the design, we believe our minimalistic clear design will help the user see a fast text free snapshot of the status of his goal, and each step in it. Using vector graphics with circles of varying size and color connected with clear lines, we expect to provide a fast paced interactive dashboard to assess the impact of each step in the goal, its progress to completion, and the status of the goal as a whole. Free service. A value thats always welcomed by users around the world. Our platform is open to free access by anyone. Extensive tools will have a small membership fee. Channels: We do not reach our customers at the time. Nor we have any. We plan on two contact points between us and our users. The first contact point will be the platform itself, where users will see the direct impact of their collaboration and the outcome of their feedback. Feedback being our second contact point. The platform is made by the users for the users, and they determine what how and when something gets done. Our feedback method will simulate the environment of the platform. We receive ideas from our users, or change requests. Other users who propose similar ideas can use the already existing one upvoting it, adding more comments and refining the proposal. As a graphical assistance to our users they will see a goal map, like their own, with the ideas between releases. Larger circles mean largely upvoted ideas. We will determine how many of those ideas can be included in a development cycle, and prioritize them based on upvotes and user priority value. At the end of the feedback period, the users will be notified of which ideas have been introduced into the development plan. An alternative to this, assuming the premise that customers dont know what they want, is give the customers a development tree with the GoalMap format. We propose features and let them test a basic presentation of each feature. The users can upvote it or downvote it. Highly approved features are pursued, the rest is discarded. One highly voted feature can produce further features as childs, or a parent feature can produce siblings. Therefore, a tree with a root (the platform), branches (different large tools) and leafs(different upgrades to each tool or subtools)

How do we raise awareness about our companys services? Were aiming at a strongly viral approach for the platform, possibly providing the user with the means to request assistance from its friends in order to complete a step, which would force the friends into free registration. Subscription to each steps notes so the users get notified when a step was altered or a new note added, and other social network tools to make the platform maintain a high exposure level.

Customer relationship:

We expect the relationship with our customers to be almost symbiotic. We need our customers to collaborate in feeding and maintaining the knowledge database of our system, and we expect feedback from them to improve the service. Our communication must be fluid, clear and friendly to generate loyalty from our users. We believe that the user interaction with the platform and its responsibilities to maintain it are a good approach to co-creation, where the users will lead us into what they want or need, and how they want it helping us increase our value proposal to other possible customers. Revenue streams: The first approach is generating two main revenue streams. Advertising by page exposure, visits and usage. And donation from our customers. At a later stage we expect to provide a membership system that will pay for each user cost per month, plus a profit percentage. (We consider user cost per month the value calculated by the infrastructure expenses + the development expenses of the service, divided by the amount of users potentially subscribed to a membership) Both of our revenue streams are dynamic pricing real-time-market approaches. Membership fee could be fixed pricing product feature dependent. Key Resources: Cloud services or infrastructure services for hosting and maintaining application, database, and others. Development team (programmer, designer, tester). Customer (responsible user with real useful information and a collaborative attitude) Key Activities: Marketing of the platform. Continuous improvement through development and feedback processing. Fluid contact with customers. Generating and maintaining high traffic for advertising. Membership expansion and retention. Key Partners: None so far. Were hoping to get MindMeister or some form of mind map application to work with us. We provide the collective intelligence and if you need specifics and detailed planning on a step, you can get them from our partners (we obtain a percentage as revenue for this). This would reduce our development effort and help us maintain the site as an advertising/donations model. Our customers are key partners. They generate the knowledge base and maintain the status of the platform casting votes on its content. Cost Structure: Cloud services or hosting and management services include a monthly subscription fee based on volume of traffic, disk storage capacity and network capacity.

We need to estimate the initial cost of the platform supporting a standard number of concurrent users with database, broadband requirements and a hits per day of 2.000 users. Our short term objective. Ideally, we should be able to escalate this if the platform expands rapidly, as we hope it will. Since its a collaborative environment on which each user might generate a large amount of Goalmaps (with all its related data) our main requirement will be Database storage. Our second most important requirement is transfer speed. We need a fast responsive interface to provide ease of use on the application and ensure users enjoy using it. Development costs depend on initial impact of the platform. If a rapid grow is experienced the development team will have to expand fast, increasing the cost of this item. Right now we have no estimations for this. After development plan is completed, we should get them.

NOTE: - from Alejandro Matias Nagy A prototype (Proof of Concept) for a Minimal Viable Product is in progress and will determine the initial technology proposed and the main requirements in hosting for this technology (Node.js, MongoDB, etc).
