We have a great opportunity to be prophec in

In other news, this coming weeks sees the rst


meeng of Bishop Bills new Council of Priests, to
whichIhavebeenelected.TheBishophasalsoinvited
metobeamemberofhisCollegeofConsultorswhich
meets on the same day. I menon this because it will
mean another day each month out of the parish for
meengs in Newcastle, and gives added impetus to
my previously stated aim of having Liturgies of the
Wordonsuchdays.

It would be my hope that a suitable group of


parishioners who will lead these liturgies could be
established and receive some formaon and training
bytheendofthecurrentcalendaryear.Intheinterim
let me apologise for those occasions when weekday
Masswontbeavailable,andassureyouthatthenew
liturgies will be in place as soon as praccably
possible. As always, your comments on this iniave

On 6th November TheSalvaon Army will be holding
their annual My Calling Day to raise funds for ip
chartsforhealtheducaoninAfrica.Theirspeakerwill
be Captain Sandy Hogg. The day will commence at
10amwithmorningteaandstalls,greatforChristmas
shopping. They would like to invite all ladies to come
andfellowshipwiththem.

in2012arenowinvitedtoenroltheirchildrenforthe
SacramentsofIniaonProgramcommencinginTerm

The Parents/Carers in those families (without the

where preparaon for the Sacraments of
Reconciliaon, Conrmaon and Eucharist will be
outlined.

During this Year of Grace this small group of men are
organising a Saturday morning breakfast on 24th
November from 7:30am to 8:30am outside the back
oftheForsterChurchHall.Breakfastisprovidedatno
cost and some of the group will talk about how
workingwiththeScripturescanbuildupagreaterlove
forJesusChristinourdailylivesinthisYearofGrace.
No bookings are necessary, just turn up. A good
breakfast will be provided with no pressure to be
involvedinanything...justsupportforeachother.

havebeeninvitedbyourChrisanbrothersandsisters
from the Forster Uning Church to again cross the
road and join them aer our 9am Mass to mark this
occasion.

Firstly, thanks to those members of the community
that aended the meeng last Sunday to discuss the
future of the Parish properes in Forster and
Tuncurry. The meeng went really well, and I was
appreciave of the comments and input from
membersofthecommunity.

For those who were unable to aend last Sunday, no


doubt you have already begun to hear something of
what was proposed. Available from the churches
today are a summary of the presentaon from last
weekend, together with all the other wrien material
thatwasmadeavailable.

All parishioners are invited to make their feelings


knownontheproposalusingeitherthequesonnaire
available in the church (which can be returned to the
boxinthechurchortotheParishOce)orinwring
by the end of November to enable to the Finance
Commiee to have a sense of the communitys
wishes.

The members of the Finance Commiee are only too


happy to speak about the proposal with individual
parishioners or small groups during the month of

This weekend sees the commencement of the
deliberateperiodsofsilenceduringourliturgy:

1. DuringthePenitenalAct,aerthePresiderinvites
us to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred
mysteries;
2. During the Collect, aer the invitaon of the
PresidertoLetuspray;and
3. During the Liturgy of the Word, between the First
Reading and the Psalm, between the Second
ReadingandtheGospelAcclamaon,andaerthe
Homily.

This minor change to our liturgical pracce, which


belongstotheverynatureoftheliturgyitself,willno
doubttakesomemetobecomeanaturalpartofour
celebraons, but I would ask for your paence and
perseverance in the interim as we seek to make
corporate prayer even more prayerful than it already
