December 12th, 2012 Dear Parents, We are excited to announce that ISGR has adopted a new report card.

This report reflects the IB program including IB Learner Profiles, PYP Essential Elements and Developmental Indicators. Description of the Report: You will find the following sections: Programme of Inquiry - Units of Inquiry: There are 6 units of inquiry during the school year. In this report the class teacher has reported on two or three of these units; depending on how far the class has come on the third unit. In the report you will see, the PYP transdisciplinary theme, the central idea and the lines of Inquiry. Your child will get a developmental indicator which demonstrates their understanding of the central idea. The comments for this section reflect what has been done and how the student progressed throughout the unit. Language: At ISGR this refers to development of the English Language Strands according to the IB; Oral, Visual and Spoken Language. Swedish or EAL: This section reports on whether your child is at the Beginning, Intermediate or Advanced Level for different aspects of Swedish /EAL. Mathematics: This refers to development of the 5 strands of Mathematics according to the IB; Number, Shape and Space, Pattern and Function, Data Handling and Measurement. Physical Education, Visual Arts and Music: The section reports on Participation and Effort, Cooperation within a group, Demonstration of Organisational Skills, and Application of Skills and Techniques specific to the curriculum subject. General Comments: These will reflect on your childs development of the IB Learner Profiles, IB Learner Attitudes and two of the PYP transdisciplinary skills; social skills and the self-management skills. The developmental indicators The key with abbreviations and explanations Emailing the report to you directly One major change is that we will be sending out the report card via email. You should have been receiving letters and updates from the class-teachers throughout this term and this is the email address that will be used for the reports. If you want us to use a different address or more than one address; please send an email by Tuesday 18th December to pypreports@isgr.se with the preferred email address(es), stating the class and the students name. If you do not have access to the internet or difficulties with your email please let your classroom teacher know and a paper copy of the report will be provided.
