Background and Rational ACMECS countries is a technical cooperation program jointly provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Thailand and Office of Industrial Economics (OIE) under the Ministry of Industry of Thailand. The program was developed to serve the fundamental objectives of Ayeyawady-Chao PhrayaMekong Economic Cooperation Strategy or ACMECS which are to increase competitiveness and contribute to greater growth of economic development for the benefits of all ACMECS member countries. The underlying objective of this program is to help relevant agencies to effectively implement the ACMECS Plan of Action, especially under ACMECS industry and energy cooperation sector.
