Public Relations and New Media Intern

PA Virtual Charter School Norristown, PA

This is a full-time, paid internship opportunity at the Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School. The position calls for a motivated and hard working individual who will provide outreach, media relations, and public relations support to the Institutional Advancement & External Affairs Department at the school. There is a wide-range of Public Relations and New Media related duties that the intern is responsible for including developing basic public relations materials such as news releases, media alerts, meeting summaries, and status reports, carrying out special and media event planning activities and arrangements, posting on Facebook, Twitter and other Social Media outlets for publicity and branding, as well as many other tasks involving personal relationships, online presence and community outreach. The intern must posses exceptional writing and editing skills, have an advanced understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Outlook, and must also be comfortable using Social Media. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills as well as experience in delivering outstanding customer service are also required. I have always been interested in working in an education environment and this position combines education with event planning, public outreach, social media and many other Public Relations/communications ideals.

Events Specialist

Boston University Boston, Ma

This is a full time employment opportunity working closely with the Human Resources Department at Boston University. The position calls for an organized individual with two to five years of experience in event planning, strong communication skills and careful attention to detail. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the many aspects of event and conference planning, including event definition, logistics planning, scheduling, and staffing. The individual must also be exceptionally knowledgeable about the campus in order to give detailed and informative tours of university facilities, discuss various venue options, as well as prepare proposals for prospective clients. Other responsibilities include, Invitation database management, including creation, information verification, and response tracking, as well as print production of event invitations, programs, menu cards and place-cards. The position also calls for an individual who understand monetary procedures, and is able to develop working event budgets, create contracts and monitor payments. I am a very organized individual and have always enjoyed the detail and commitment that goes into successfully planning an event. Ive had experience in this field through my work as Sisterhood Coordinator of Alpha Gamma Delta where I am responsible for planning and hosting 3 events each semester that aim to enhance the bond shared within the sorority. This position, although challenging, would be a joy to pursue.

Social Media Coordinator

Best Fitness is a health club and fitness center in search of a social media coordinator who will help engage and encourage continuous communication with current and potential members utilizing all social media channels. Dedicated to providing members with the very best level of service in the fitness community, Best Fitness is looking for an individual who is just as dedicated and motivated. This individual must be highly knowledgeable of current technologies and social media platforms, as well as possess functional knowledge of common advertising and marketing principals. It is ideal that they can also work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The responsibilities associated with this position include but are not limited to day to day management and development of content on social media platforms, including tweets, blogs, posts and discussions, responding to comments quickly with poise and tact, as well as working in coordination with Web Developer regarding website design, implementation and maintenance. It is required that is individual has previous marketing, social media and/or public relations experience, exceptional communication skills, and pays very high attention to detail. My previous internship as the Social Media Coordinator for the Orleans Firebirds Baseball team has provided me with experience in this field and has introduced me to the many responsibilities and aspects of social media communication.

Social Media & Marketing Intern

The corporation strives to WOW! clients, which is defined on their website as the ability to completely surpass what is expected, leading to a positive, lasting impression. The individual who fulfills this intern position must understand and embody this WOW! mentality. The individual must be hands-on, extroverted, forward thinking and capable of balancing multiple priorities efficiently.Responsibilities associated with this internship include promoting the brand through social media, data entry and database management, designing various internal and external newsletters, as well as updating website content on a weekly basis. Most importantly, the individual is responsible for WOWing! internal and external customers. Required qualifications for this position include the ability to learn new concepts quickly, portray excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, be detail oriented and incredibly organized as well as demonstrate strong computer skills. I feel as though I would strive in this type of creative and consumeroriented environment. Ive always been confident in my ability to leave positive and long lasting impressions with new people and this position would only strengthen that ability.

Editorial and Marketing Assistant

H2O at Home is party-planning company that produces and sells all-natural, organic home care, home fragrance, and organic personal care products. The company creates products that aim to make life easier while continuing to hold true to environmentally friendly and chemical-free values. This position, editorial and marketing assistant, involves extensive proofreading, diligent research, blogging and maintenance of social media sites including Facebook and twitter. The individual who fulfills this position must be well educated in writing and editing and must have an exceptional understanding of social media communication. It is preferred that this individual is an English, communications, and/or marketing major in their junior or senior year. The position is paid and takes place in a fun, innovative environment. Not only do I meet the major and age requirements, but I also have a strong passion for writing and feel as though my understanding of Social Media functions and techniques is incredibly strong.
