Study Guide for American Revolution Quiz


On Thursday, December 20th, well have a quiz on part one the American Revolution. This quiz features very little memorization, and will ask students to show how well they know the following learning objectives: 1. Explain the events that caused the American Revolution. 2. Describe the risks the Americans faced prior to, and during the Revolution. 3. Decide which events and/or people were most important to the Americans becoming an independent nation. This quiz focuses on the events leading up to and causing the Revolution. Students will be asked to complete one of two options for the quiz. Option 1: Write 5 sentences using three important people, events, or ideas from our Vocab Grid. (see reverse). Sentences must show comprehension of class material and of our aforementioned objectives. Option 2: Respond to 2 of the following 3 essay questions: 1. Which event (or leader) was most important during the years leading up to the Revolution? 2. Which event was more responsible for causing division between the colonies and England: the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, or the battle of Lexington and Concord? 3. Which of the of the following acts of Parliament is most responsible for the Loyalist-Patriot division: Proclamation of 1763, Intolerable Acts, Tea Act, or the Stamp Act? To prepare for this quiz, students should use their class materials and textbooks to understand how the following information helped the colonists move towards independence: Events: Boston Tea Party Intolerable Acts
