CLKG
The CLOCK Generator (CLKG) board works in active/standby mode. The
CLKG uses 8 K frame synchronization signal from DTB or SDTB board, 2
MHz or 2 Mb signal from BITS system, and 8 K clock signal (PP2S and 16
CHIP) GCM board as local clock reference. The CLKG board provides loss-
of-reference alarm signal.

Functions
Communicates the OMP board via RS485 bus.
Selects clock reference source according to configurations or manually
and supports shielding manual changeover via software setting.
Manual reference order is

2 Mb 1 -> 2 Mb 2 -> 2MHz 1 -> 2 MHz 2 -> 8K1 -> 8K2 -> 8K3 ->
NULL.
Outputs Stratum 2 or 3 clock and changes constant temperature
trough or via software.
Outputs fifteen 16.384 M, 8 K and PP2S clocks to the UIM.
Clock loss and input reference degradation judgment.
Provides functions of Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) failure
alarm, constant temperature trough alarm, reference and output clock
loss alarm, reference degradation alarm, and reference frequency
offset out-of-range alarm and PLL phase discrimination failure alarm,
which enables to determine CLKG board current working status and
locates the fault.

Figure 47 illustrates DTB board DIP switches and jumpers.

FIGURE 47 – DTB BOARD DIP SWITCHES AND JUMPERS

The BSC adopts DTB board externally to provide E1 and T1 trunks. When
different transmission modes are in use, DIP switches on the DTB front
board and corresponding rear board RTDB set correctly so that bottom-
layer links work normally.

The DIP switches are 4-bit switches. For E1/T1 trunks, DTB board consists
of two types of DIP switches. They are

1. DIP switches S1 - S9 and S12 are for setting the impedance of E1

ports
Every bit of S1 - S6, S9 and S12 corresponds to one E1. S7 and S8
provides working status of two E1/T1 chips and indicate matched
receive impedance of E1/T1 chips to CPU. S7 corresponds to E1/T1
chips 1 through 4 (E1 1 through E1 16) and S8 corresponds to E1/T1
chips 5 through 8 (E1 17 through E1 32).
S1 - S9 and S12 are set to OFF when the impedance of E1 and T1
ports are 120 and 100 ohm respectively.
S1 - S9 and S12 are set to ON when the impedance of E1 ports is 75
ohm.

2. DIP switches S10 and S11 are for setting the length of E1/T1 cables
S10 corresponds to E1/T1 chips 1 through 4 (E1/T1 1 through E1/T1
16) and S11 corresponds to E1/T1 chips 5 through 8 (E1/T1 17
through E1/T1 32).
S10 and S11 switches are set to OFF when the E1/T1 cables are long
(line distance to the next active device is more than 200 m).
S10 and S11 switches are set to ON when the E1/T1 cables are short
(line distance to the next active device is less than 200 m).
For T1 trunks, only S10 and S11 indicates E1/T1 cable length are
effective on DTB board and then the matched impedance of T1 is 100
ohm.
