Today in this world each and everything we want wether taking admissions or securing good jobs we have to take

support of corrption!!! That means for every life attainig work we have to take or give bribe. Every where a serious question is askd"who dissorves more punishment one who takes bribe or one who gives bribe?" Actually in my point of view certainly one who gives bribe is more corrupt because to that person whom your giving will take that bribe becuse that bribe is that kind of money which ca fullfill his/her LIC payments or may deposit his child's fee. That time money becomes his life, all that he can't with his salary he can do with that biribe! We as people or citizens of country feels all that corruption is going on the country is just because of the corrupt politians but had we seen ourselves? Are we corruption free? If no so how can we blame those who are just like us. the difference is only that they take bribe in massive scale according to their position and we takes another chance to blame them!! Friends corruption is a social evil which suddenly canooy be uprooted from the country or the world just like Anna hazare we can try out! YAA one thing more we speak "anna tum sangharsh karo hum tumhare saath h" Why only anna protest alone except supporting can't we protest not with him but yes like him!!! Merriam Websters Dictionary of English defines corruption as impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle; decay, decomposition; inducement to wrong by improper or unlawful means (as bribery); a departure from the original or from what is pure or correct. All these definitions are currently applicable fully in the Indian context, which is witnessing decay in moral values and there is large scale impairment of integrity and virtue. Corruption is the most common word on the mouth of Indians. Corruption has impacted severely all sectors, such as Education, Sports, Health, Defence, Judiciary, Politics, Corporate. Corruption is a deep-rooted menace that has eaten into the vitals of our society. There is hardly any sphere of social, economic, political and religious activity that is free from some kind of corruption. It has become so common that the people have come to accept it as part of their lives. Bribery and corruption has increased after 1947. The growth of democracy and industry, the system of licenses and permits for setting up enterprises, securing quota for raw materials, imports and exports and expansion of trade and commerce, is responsible for the increase in corruption. Stringent laws against corruption have proved ineffective in curbing this evil. In India, corruption takes the form of bribes, evasion of tax and exchange controls, embezzlement, etc. A study done by Transparency International (TI) India found that more than 50% had firsthand experience of paying bribe or peddling influence to get a job done in a public office.

Not Much Can Be Done -- No country of the world has been able to root out corruption nor will India be able to do so. Since human beings are made differently there will always be a mix of good human beings and bad human beings. At times good people will be more and at times the bad people will be more. -- Many people have adopted corruption as their culture and therefore it is a need in every walk of life for them. The needs have increased and to fulfill them legal source of money is not much sufficient for such people and thus they adopt the shortest route of corruption. Also, in our country the procedure for getting any work done is very long and there is every opportunity to delay the work unless the other person does not bribe. It is our procedural system that allows corruption. -- Corruption would flourish as long as there are people who are prepared to give bribes and others who are prepared to accept it, directly or indirectly. It is not difficult to locate the causes of corruption. Corruption generally breeds at the top and then filters down to lower levels. -- Vast size of population coupled with widespread illiteracy and the poor economic infrastructure lead to endemic corruption in public life. Something Can Be Done -- Mark Twain had once said, Corruption is like weather. Everyone knows about it but no one can do anything about it. But, sure, something can be done to protect ourselves from it as we can do something to protect ourselves from inclement weather. This something is to build public opinion for a clean and transparent government and refuse to cooperate with the corrupt. -- The criminal justice system of India is seen as lethargic and inefficient by citizens. It has to be made quick and efficient. The departmental superiors have to ensure that their subordinates do not indulge in corruption and if they do, they are dealt with promptly and adequately. The recent quick trial of a Lt. Gen. of the Army on charge of involvement in a land scam lends hope that the system has not totally collapsed and has resilience. -- There should be stringent laws in the country so that people are discouraged in taking recourse to means that are not correct. People invent new methods of cheating the government and the public. To prevent this, strong laws that have no loopholes should be enacted. -- Corruption can be eradicated from India provided people from all walks of life maintain a high level of honesty, integrity and morality. Also, India can become a nation free of corruption if the problems of poverty, illiteracy and malnutrition are addressed.

The Top Scams in India 1) 2G Spectrum Scam We have had a number of scams in India; but none bigger than the scam involving the process of allocating unified access service licenses. At the heart of this Rs.1.76-lakh crore worth of scam is the former Telecom minister A Raja who according to the CAG, has evaded norms at every level as he carried out the dubious 2G license awards in 2008 at a throw-away price which were pegged at 2001 prices. 2) Commonwealth Games Scam Another feather in the cap of Indian scandal list is Commonwealth Games loot. Yes, literally a loot! Even before the long awaited sporting bonanza could see the day of light, the grand event was soaked in the allegations of corruption. It is estimated that out of Rs. 70000 crore spent on the Games, only half the said amount was spent on Indian sportspersons. The Central Vigilance Commission, involved in probing the alleged corruption in various Commonwealth Games-related projects, has found discrepancies in tenders like payment to non-existent parties, will-ful delays in execution of contracts, over-inflated price and bungling in purchase of equipment through tendering and misappropriation of funds. 3) Telgi Scam As they say, every scam must have something unique in it to make money out of it in an unscrupulous manner- and Telgi scam had all the suspense and drama that the scandal needed to thrive and be busted. Abdul Karim Telgi had mastered the art of forgery in printing duplicate stamp papers and sold them to banks and other institutions. The tentacles of the fake stamp and stamp paper case had penetrated 12 states and was estimated at a whooping Rs. 20000 crore plus. The Telgi clearly had a lot of support from government departments that were responsible for the production and sale of high security stamps. 4) Satyam Scam The scam at Satyam Computer Services is something that will shatter the peace and tranquillity of Indian investors and shareholder community beyond repair. Satyam is the biggest fraud in the corporate history to the tune of Rs. 14000 crore. The companys disgraced former chairman Ramalinga Raju kept everyone in the dark for a decade by fudging the books of accounts for several years and inflating revenues and profit figures of Satyam. Finally, the company was taken over by the Tech Mahindra which has done wonderfully well to revive the brand Satyam.

5) Bofors Scam The Bofors scandal is known as the hallmark of Indian corruption. The Bofors scam was a major corruption scandal in India in the 1980s; when the then PM Rajiv Gandhi and several others including a powerful NRI family named the Hindujas, were accused of receiving kickbacks from Bofors AB for winning a bid to supply Indias 155 mm field howitzer. Most of all, the Bofors scam had a strong emotional appeal because it was a scam related to the defense services and Indias security interests. 6) The Fodder Scam If you havent heard of Bihars fodder scam of 1996, you might still be able to recognize it by the name of Chara Ghotala , as it is popularly known in the vernacular language. In this corruption scandal worth Rs.900 crore, an unholy nexus was traced involved in fabrication of vast herds of fictitious livestock for which fodder, medicine and animal husbandry equipment was supposedly procured. 7) The Hawala Scandal The Hawala case to the tune of $18 million bribery scandal, which came in the open in 1996, involved payments allegedly received by countrys leading politicians through hawala brokers. From the list of those accused also included Lal Krishna Advani who was then the Leader of Opposition. Thus, for the first time in Indian politics, it gave a feeling of open loot all around the public, involving all the major political players being accused of having accepted bribes and also alleged connections about payments being channelled to Hizbul Mujahideen militants in Kashmir. 8) IPL Scam Well, I am running out of time and space over here. The list of scandals in India is just not ending and becoming grave by every decade. Most of us are aware about the recent scam in IPL and embezzlement with respect to bidding for various franchisees. The scandal already claimed the portfolios of two big-wigs in the form of Shashi Tharoor and former IPL chief Lalit Modi. 9,10) Harshad Mehta & Ketan Parekh Stock Market Scam Although not corruption scams, these have affected many people. There is no way that the investor community could forget the unfortunate Rs. 4000 crore Harshad Mehta scam and over Rs. 1000 crore Ketan Parekh scam which eroded the shareholders wealth in form of big market jolt. .
