To address the priority problem in IoE sites, we urgently required 12V batteries(unavailable in stock) for ericsson outdoor bts sites, where due to space constraints in the cabinet, 2V Batteries (available in stock) are not suitable to be added. We have already taken North Star 12V batteries from different indoor sites for the last 1 year. Now we found no indoor sites having good performing 12V NS batteries. Due to poor battery backup, outdoor sites were frequently experiencing traffic loss. Under such circumstances, as he had experience on Huawei outdoor bts back in Chittagong, he thought why not we use Huawei outdoor BBS cabinet for ericsson outdoor bts which will remove my requirement for 12V batteries. Hence we checked & collected the BBS cabinet from Tongi warehouse and installed it in Dhanmondi Rd7, where we succesfully inserted 2V batteries & solved the traffic loss problem. This case i think clearly depicts a sample of superb creativity which will solve our constraints in many other outdoor sites as well & will ensure optimum BTS availability.
Abul Kalam Mohammad Nazmul Islam Market Operations Ethical Nominated by: Sabbir Rashid
As a regional Manager, he has not accepted any unethical practice of any dealer. He has played an important role to kick out those dealers and I have seen some best ethical practices to choose the right distributor for replacement. Though he has been threatened by them, but he was stuck to his decision to discontinue with those non performing dealers, which makes the Comilla region the most successful one now. I am learning every day from his passionate & ethical attitude within the work or outside the work.
practicing example of Open, one of the guiding principle Robi and are worth of being selected as Flag Bearers.
Mohammad Sharfuddin Shamim Technology Ownership Nominated by: A.Z.M Akhlaqur Rahman
Shamlapur Spur link (42m Tower), Coxs Bazar is one of those remote areas where Robi is the first cell phone operator who is providing network coverage. The site is situated at Baharchhara, Teknaf, Coxs Bazar. It is about 50 KM away from Coxs Bazar city, beside the sea. The site is separated from highway by hills, parallel to the sea. Only way of communication is privately operated motor cars (Chander Gari) running between Whykong and Baharchhara. It is about 10/12 KM journey through hills. Due to huge demand, we planned to install 2nd cabinet in the site. Accordingly, Mr. Sharfuddin was going to the site. The car started at 11:00 AM from Whykong. Just after 15 minutes, the car was stopped by a group of six Hill Muggers in a quiet place. They carried Double Barreled Gun and long knives (Chapati) with them. They fired their gun once to stop the car and then guided all passengers, along with driver and helper of the car, inside jungle and tied their hands with rope. After that, they searched the car and passengers and snatched all money, mobile phones and all other valuable goods in their possession. Two passengers, who did not have money to give, were beaten by the muggers. Fortunately, our colleague, Mr. Sharfuddin was not injured, though has lost money, watch and mobile phone. That is not the end. He completed the survey in the tour and supervised later works. Recently, we took another site in the locality, named Shamlapur-2. He surveyed the site too. He is a good example of our sense of ownership in our professional life.
A.F.M Ershadul Haque Market Operations Ownership Nominated by: Ishtiaque Mahbub
There are many moments where BPM team has found Mr. Ershad sharing his shoulder towards his team mates in crisis time. This unique quality of owning responsibility of his team mates constructive action makes him different from other leaders. This also gives enough confidence to the team to work confidently and accomplish companys goal. One such moment can be cited as when I was held responsible wrongly for delaying a particular project. Unfortunately, I was not in the office at that time (after office hour) and the response had to be made at that moment. Instead of creating a panicking situation, Mr. Ershad instantly calmed me down over phone and took my view of what is the actual scenario. After having a briefing of the situation, the reply was prepared and given to the concerned person. The situation was so complex that it took nearly 1 hr to script the final reply after few editing. During this whole time, Mr. Ershad constantly passed his positive assurance to me. Given the ongoing culture of the company, where getting backing from a line manager is a rarity, Mr. Ershad has shown his credibility of owning responsibility of his team mates and provided necessary support / backing towards his team mates in critical moments.
Now a days fuel pilfering is a burning issue. It is really important for operations as well as the company to stop this thing as well to investigate and impose penalty to guilty person or vendor. Huge amount of money is involved with this issue. So it is really important to check each and every issue to save huge amount of money. It is also related to site outage. if fuel in lost then generator dependent site will be impacted. revenue will be lost, customer satisfaction will be poor due to poor coverage and opex will be high to restore the site. Last few months we had several issues like this. Md. Moin Uddin (specialist regional operation, Khulna ID- 1041) was responsible to take care these issues. He not only found out the real cause but also imposed the penalty to Security Company and O&M vendor with the help of admin, Security supervisor. He was well experienced to manage the House owner. He tried to make the house owner understand over phone but failed. Then at 6.00 PM on that particular day he went to Satkhira to talk with the house owner. After several conversations (at around for 2 hours) with house owner and his family members he was able to make them understand and the issue was resolved. The next day Regional technology team got site access. On that particular day, another incident happened at Kanaipur site, Kushtia region. We were not getting access at site at around 00 am on 12-Jun12. Site was being run by battery backup. Low voltage alarm was there. If team did not get access then around 20 sites would be affected. Technology team did not get access because of site key issue. Land owner phone was not available. Then Kushtia region escalated problem to Mr. Sayik siddiquee. He managed the phone number of the house owner and arranged the key for access. The regional in-charge of Kushtia and Khulna congratulated to Mr. Sayik Siddiquee for his never dying attitude and passionate jobs to solve the problem. A.S.M Abir Hasan Technology Creative Nominated by: Khondakar Md. Mubassir Rahman
Abir implemented generator control without VTMS by Our Eltek rectifier at Coygram site (BSAGL05) under BBH80. It worked by: capacity charging and discharging (function absent in VTMS) Voltage Timing Eltek rectifiers do not need VTMS and VTMS install cost. The solution also reduced frequent faults, saving replacement cost of VTMS. It also increased battery efficiency/longevity because it confirms battery charge and discharge by generator operation. Generator run time is reduced, as a result of which fuel cost is reduced (When battery capacity 100% generator will be stop).

More so, he gave me the full credit of the achievement even though he had a lot of contribution and effort in closing the deals. Now i feel much more comfortable working under his leadership and have no complains."
great contribution to the Finance Compliance unit is beyond his JD of Insurance & Risk Mgt unit. From simple compliance checking to complex testing of overall internal control is beyond the written work scope and exemplifies the true spirit of taking ownership beyond boundary. Im amazed by this true example of someone going beyond his JD & serving with a smiley face. In todays business world employees are its most valuable resource. Its not only the product that always matters for success as long as a company has its best people. Thus, I would like to nominate Mr. Md. Shahidur Rahman as the most passionate employee.
Md. Tanvir Hossain Khan Finance Passionate Nominated by: F.M Fazle Karim
There was an instruction from BTRC that no prepaid subscriber should have balance more than 5,000BDT. This was not noticed by technology compliance, audit or any other department where Tanvir from Fraud Management Department identified this fact & reported detected subscribers those who exceeds 5,000BDT to CRL, Technology & Management. On the basis of this robi implemented a threshold of 5,000BDT for all prepaid subscribers by engaging Huawei. BTRC has a plan to conduct an audit to robi where this violation could have ended with huge penalty from BTRC to robi.
Md. Sadiqul Islam Technology Passionate Nominated by: Mohammad Monzurul Hasan
Technology evolves over time. So is our IN to OCS. A telco like Robi is driven by data. Migration to OCS involves changes in data structure. This required a new project to develop a process for this change to support existing business data which involves time. But there is no scope to wait which hampers the current business process. Here comes the benevolence of Md. Sadiqul Islam. He thought of some process that would not affect the end process. Rather it'd take OCS data as input parameters, do some mediation processing and output as IN data. He shared the idea to corresponding stakeholder. They liked it, but could not take the project by themselves. Then Sadique himself took in charge of that. Under his adroit supervision, this change management has been accomplished perfectly. Not only this, some of the flaws of OCS has been identified by him through the course of this project. These flaws were later corrected by the vendor. Now OCS has gone live with its accuracy and improved features. He is a person who delves himself into the system early in the morning after his morning prayer, monitoring processes for error and recovery so that all other stakeholders who are dependent on data for starting the office day avails it in time. Delay is tolerable in this case, but the man bearing that sense of ownership is reluctant to go in that way. There are numerous examples where other team got benefited from his knowledge sharing and extra effort beyond his work scope. It is his sense of ownership which hunts him round the clock thriving for an extra mile.
