*CALL to WORSHIP: If we have ever felt Jesus presence in this world of ours, it certainly is at Christmas time! AMEN! We have surely had a wonderful celebration at Jesus joyous birth! It would be a shame to wander too far away from the real significance of Christmas Day, and assume that Jesus has automatically come with us! May God help us not to take for granted the presence of Jesus Christ in our daily lives! Come, and let us sing together of Gods greatest Gift! *HYMN #176G Lift Up Your Heads *CALL TO and PRAYER of CONFESSION: Dear Lord God: after such great expectations and excitements, Christmas is over so suddenly! The glory of Christmas seems to fade like falling white snow, now discolored by the dirt of busy traffic. Help us to always tell about the Christ in the Christ mas Season! ...(moments of silence) *ASSURANCE of PARDON and *GLORIA PATRI *AFFIRMATION of FAITH- Apostles Creed *HYMN #215G Were You There

THE APOSTLES CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Like the shepherds, we hear the news and we are stunned: in Jesus God has come among us as one of us, to accompany and transform us. As we open our hearts to Gods love in Jesus, we find it will not be contained but yearns to be shared with others. One of the ways Presbyterians have traditionally responded to the news of Gods great gift is by sharing our own gifts through the Christmas Joy Offering. The Offering supports racial ethnic education at Presbyterian-related schools and colleges, where students develop their gifts and find their calling. It also helps families of active and retired church workers meet unexpected needs through the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions. As an example, former Pastor Eric Fagans (1977- 1989) and Interim Pastor Paul Tuttle might be receiving this assistance. As we celebrate this good news of great joy that a Savior has been born to us may our gifts bear joyful witness to Gods uncontainable love. There are 12 assisted listening devices available for people to better hear the worship service. They are located in a basket in the narthex. CD copies of our worship service are also available every Sunday in the narthex. Check out our website for the weekly Bulletin and Insert. Our Facebook page can be found at: Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church

The Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013. We would like to have the reports ready for distribution one week in advance of the meeting and would like to start compiling them as soon as possible. Please turn in your annual meeting reports to the office by Sunday, January 13. You can leave them in the container on the office door. You can also e-mail them to Jill at jstout312@comcast.net or fax them to 358-8439. Thank you in advance! The 2013 Flower Calendar Chart is now available. Please sign up! It is located on the wall outside of the upstairs lounge. The 2013 offering envelopes are available in the narthex. Please pick yours up today. Thank you in advance. Did you "get" a gift this Christmas? Can you "give" one to a stranger? The Sunday School has been challenged to "give" a gift of gently worn clothing, perhaps something they have outgrown or are replacing with something they got for Christmas. We will be collecting good, gently-worn clothing of all sizes until January 20th. Donations will be distributed to needy people in our area or in areas impacted by recent storms. See Ruth Williams 358-3382. Pastors Bible Study - Thursday mornings 9-10am in the manse. We got a coffee cup just for you! We will be undecorating the church next Sunday, January 6th, immediately following worship. If you are willing and able to stay and help it would be much appreciated! Many hands make light work!

Prayer Requests: Debbie Covey (Oak Gandys daughter), Jack Barrett, Billy Cundey (friend of Chris Baum), John Baitinger (Marian Dwyers brother), Brenda (Hackett) Halls daughter, Jill (friend of Jane String), Robert Brown (Eric Williams father-in-law), Leroy Skinner, Tom Buckingham, David Sickler, Stanley Prickitt (Kitty Lambs father), Lee & Georgia Williams, Charlie Hitchner, Sara Williams (Lee Williams Jr.s wife), Billy Robbins, Harold Ware, and Thomas & Paula Hackett (Dick Hacketts brother and sister-in-law). Please note: There is a notebook in the narthex to write down prayer requests. Rev. Tuttle will utilize this information during the time of our prayers. Please include the individuals name and address if possible. This year, instead of the Angel Tree, we have a Mitten Tree where colorful mittens, gloves, hats and/or scarves may be placed on the tree at the front of the Sanctuary during the first hymn each Sunday through January 6th. After the holidays, the Deacons will be giving the Mitten Tree Donations to the Salem County Womens Services. They offer a multitude of free services, shelter and counseling locally to victims, and their children, of domestic violence and abuse. Donations will be gratefully accepted through the January 6th service. The rosebud at the front of the church this morning is in honor of the birth of Addisyn Mae Foote, daughter of David & Kari Foote. Addisyn was born on December 23rd.
