This is an opportunity to introduce and improve basic football skills and promote excitement about playing the game of football. All camp attendees will receive individual and group instruction in all phases of the game as well as a participation T-Shirt. They will participate in drills, improve skills and implement them in game like situations in our 7 on 7 league through the camp. All participants must have a current physical to participate in the camp. FOOTBALL 2011-2012 INFORMATIONAL MEETING Thanks for you interest in White Station Middle Football. We hope that this meeting will answer any of the questions you may have regarding our program and address any concerns you may have. Below are a few Frequently Asked Questions that we will address this evening: 1. Can all students participate? Any student in grades 6-8 that are in good academic standing and not being retained are eligible to play. 2. My son is not very experienced and I want to know if he should try out, what do you think? If your son shows an interest in playing we suggest letting them try it out. We teach all of our players no matter what their experience level the same basic fundamental skills every year and consistently reinforce them throughout the year. The desire to work hard and willingness to learn and constantly improve are the only things that are required to TRY. 3. Does WSMS make cuts? Depending on the number of kids we have that we feel can help us be successful. 4. How many players are on the team? We are equipped to fit 40-45 kids on our roster. We like to stay around 40 so there are very few kids that stand around during the season. In a perfect world all kids that we keep should be able to contribute in some form or fashion as a member of the WSMS football team. 5. Does it cost any money to play for WSMS? To tryout, there is no cost. Once the team is finalized we will have a meeting explaining the required costs (insurance) and optional costs which may include but are not limited to girdles, spirit pack and meal money which will not exceed a total of $100. More information on that will be given at the parent meeting after tryouts in July. There is not a cost for equipment or tryouts. 6. When is the first day of practice? We begin summer practice on July 19th. Below you will find a schedule for our first 3 weeks. July 18-22 8-10 am July 25-29 8-10 am and 5:30-7:30 ( twice a day) August 1-5 8-10 am and 5:30 7:30 (twice a day) August 9-13 School in Session

Some modifications may be made to this schedule as situations arise. We work with orientations and other beginning of school activities to make sure the students dont miss anything. 7. What does my son need for the first day? All student-athletes need a doctors physical dated AFTER May 1st, 2011 on the form attached to this sheet. As for attire, all the players will need is a pair of shorts, a tshirt and cleats (highly recommended but, not required). We will provide everything else.
