Saul Alinsky radicalism is at the heart of President Barack Obamas politics proclaimed Republican presidential candidate and former speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich during the 2012 Republican presidential primary campaign in Florida. Gingrich was right. Alinsky is the evil genius behind Barack Obamas politics. It is impossible to understand Obamas politics without understanding Alinskys politics. The relationship of Alinsky to Obama is the relationship of teacher to student.

The truth is that Alinsky was a hardline power politics tactician who cut his teeth in the 1930s by aligning himself with then nationally prominent labor union organizer John L. Lewis, as the two joined forces to unionize workers in Chicagos famed stockyards to demand higher pay. Alinskys clearly stated goal was revolutionary to organize poor and minority communities as power to the people political forces capable of overturning the established order to obtain income redistribution from the haves to the have-nots. That government should force the haves to relinquish their property to the have-nots is an idea central to socialism and communism alike, equally as the idea is at the center of Alinsky and Obamas politics. Nothing could be further from the ideas of freedom articulated in the founding documents of the United States of America that human beings are endowed with inalienable rights bestowed by God that establish personal freedoms consistent with the idea of private enterprise and limited government. Alinsky began his seminal 1971 book Rules for Radicals with three acknowledgements. ... The final acknowledgment Alinsky attributed to himself: Lest we forget at least an over-theshoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom -- Lucifer. Saul Alinsky The dedication to Lucifer remains so explosive yet today that modern editions of Rules for Radicals frequently omit the testimonial to Lucifer altogether. Still, what Alinsky is saying is obvious. He embraces the dark side, modeling himself after the Prince of Darkness, as if to say that fulfillment of his destiny demands rebelling against the established powers in the United

In his personal rebellion, Alinsky bows down to Satan, identifying himself with Lucifers goal in the Biblical rebellion namely, to grab power from the hands of God so as to place himself on the Heavenly throne. . . . Alinskys politics, much like Lucifers, exist in a moral vacuum where all value systems regardless how perverse are perceived as right only because those in power say so. The acknowledgments to the original edition of Alinskys seminal work, Rules for Radicals, leave no doubt that Alinsky considered himself the dark genius of power politics. His goal was to stand like a man in rebelling against the established law and order in the United States which he saw written in favor of the haves the bankers, business owners, management and capitalists in order to rewrite history in favor of the have-nots the poor, the minorities, the workers and the labor unions. . . . The point is that for Alinsky all politics is reduced to power politics. In an Alinsky world where might makes right, his goal is to wrench power from the hands of the established haves to place power in the hands of the have nots. In other words, Alinskys goal was to make the have-nots the established order, much as Lucifer and his followers sought to cast God out of Heaven. While Alinsky would deny throughout his life that he was a Communist, his Rules for Radicals was written to lay out for socialists a step-by-step how to guide of power politics that was developed to empower the have-nots to turn free enterprise on its head allowing the poor and downtrodden to redistribute income in their favor by wrenching wealth from hands of the haves. Alinskys vision rested not upon any understanding of classic moral principles, but instead derived from a socialist consciousness of class and race warfare that Marx and Engels would have understood.

Despite that, Barack Obama used Alinskys vision of Hope and Change to run for president successfully in 2008, and today he is re-crafting Alinskys admittedly radical and revolutionary consciousness for social justice into the foundational themes of his 2012 presidential campaign. In 2008, Obamas advisors packaged and sold him to American voters as if he were a great unifier. Today, Obamas presidential campaign is pure Alinsky, as Obama campaigns on the theme The rich should pay their fair share of taxes. Alinsky taught community organizers how to focus on grievances, including hatred of those who succeed in a free enterprise system. Now, it appears Obama intends to use Alinsky methods to divide the rich from the poor, the young from the old, majority whites from minorities, and Latino communities from Republican Party politics.

Long before Barack Obama used the rallying cry of Hope and Change, Alinsky used the themes of Hope and Change as code words for creating a socialist revolution in the United States. Alinsky taught organizers to hide their true intentions in the words they spoke. Denying the truth or just plain lying were both acceptable tactics, as long as the cause advanced. He taught organizers to ridicule opponents when the arguments of their opponent could not be refuted by logic, evidence or argument. In the streets, Alinsky had learned the old Communist adage that derision would cause community audiences to laugh at their opponents, rather than listen to what their opponents were saying. Alinskys Rules for Radicals applied confrontation tactics to the goal of destroying political opponents, regardless of the truth or merit of their arguments.

The essential technique demanded learning how to listen carefully enough so the organizer could use the words and language of the community itself to move the community in the direction the organizer wanted to go. In other words, listening itself was a tactic. Truthfully, the community organizer did not need to listen to the grievances of a community in order to embrace the economic struggle as if it were his or her own. Instead, the community organizer

needed to listen to the grievances of a community in order to be more effective in manipulating the community. The goal was not to sympathize with economic suffering, but to utilize economic resentment so the community could be organized for effective actions in the political arena where power and the law of numbers would rule the day. Fundamentally, Alinsky saw radicals such as himself and Obama as elitists by nature, in their assertion that the leftist social values they sought to pursue justified the use of tactics whose very nature was a lie. The last thing Alinsky wanted was for himself to be middle class. What he sought was to grab the power from the corporate and business elite he reviled. For Alinsky, the middle class was a pawn. As much as he disdained the middle class and wanted to overturn middle class identity and values, Alinsky was smart enough to realize he could only produce his desired change by convincing the middle class to side with him in their own destruction. Every bit as much as communists and socialists historically have felt disdain for the useful idiots of the liberal middle class they must court in order to gain power, Alinsky resented the middle class he needed to mobilize in order to transform the minority disadvantaged into a majority political power base supporting Alinskys goal of change i.e., redistribution of income and wealth from the haves to the have-nots. No matter how well intentioned Alinskys social methodology may have been, in the final analysis, there is no proof that redistributing income and wealth from todays have-nots from todays haves would accomplish anything but create more economically depressed people than was the case before an Alinsky-style revolution was implemented. Besides, what reason is there to be confident the have-nots of today would be as sympathetic with the have-nots of the future, once todays have-nots were the beneficiaries of the redistributed income and transferred wealth? Since President Lyndon B. Johnson proclaimed the Great Society in the 1960s, the United States has spent several trillion dollars on a wide range of social welfare transfer-payment programs, with little or no resulting reduction in poverty in America. Instead, the United States is on the verge of creating a permanent urban underclass plagued by teenage pregnancy, unwed mothers, children that drop out of school, and unemployable adults who have dropped out of the labor force. Famously, Charles Murray in his 1984 book Losing Ground: American Social Policy 1950-1980 proved that poverty cannot be eliminated simply by providing the poor with money. Testing the proposition that to eliminate poverty all we need to do is mail enough checks with enough money to enough people, Murray noted that in the 1970s, the number of checks, the size of the checks, and the number of social welfare beneficiaries all increased. Yet, perversely, the poverty rate began to increase, not decrease.

Still, even today, when Obama tells audiences his community organizing experience taught me a lot about listening to people as opposed to coming in with a premeditated agenda, he is reciting pure Alinsky dogma. As noted earlier, listening, in the Alinsky lexicon, is just a tactic. and Obama listens because he has been taught the only way to intensify discontent is to use the language of the community itself. The goal is to rub raw economic discontent and fan the flames of class conflict. The plan remains to make the have-nots resent the haves.

Obama Preaches Class Warfare

Sitting with first lady Michelle Obama in the gallery of the House of Representatives to be on view during the nationally televised broadcast of the 2012 State of the Union speech was billionaire investor Warren Buffetts secretary, Debbie Bosanek. The secretary had become an issue in Obamas fair share rhetoric after Buffett went public with the complaint that it was unfair he paid a lower percent of his income in taxes than did his secretary. On the day of Obamas 2012 State of the Union Speech, Paul Roderick Gregory pointed out in Forbes that Bosanek earns between $200,000 and $500,000 a year, dramatically reducing her value as a sob story. Moreover, Gregory pointed out that Buffetts earnings primarily come from investment earnings that are taxed at 15 percent. Still, with the television cameras watching, Obama proclaimed in the address that, Right now, Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary. Next, Obama proclaimed what he called the Buffett Rule, namely that anyone earning more than $1 million a year should not pay less than 30 percent in taxes. Never has Obama referenced what the New York Post revealed: that Buffetts Berkshire Hathaway has owed the IRS as much as a $1 billion in unpaid taxes going back a decade, as long ago as 2002. If Buffet really thinks he and his mega-rich friends should pay higher taxes, why doesnt his firm folk over what it already owes under current rates, the New York Post asked. Likely answer: He cares more about shilling for President Obama whos practically made socking millionaires and billionaires his re-election theme song that about kicking in more himself. Truthfully, the income tax schedule in the United States was never meant to be fair. A fair tax is typically a flat tax applied to consumable goods or services, such that every consumer, regardless how rich or poor, pays the same identical tax when purchasing the same identical goods or services. The income tax code in the United States is and has always been a progressive tax, designed such that the wealthier a person or family is, the higher the income tax percentage that must be paid. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the highest quintile of American taxpayers are the largest sources of federal revenues including income taxes, social security payroll taxes, corporate income taxes and excise taxes paying an average rate of 25 percent of their household income for the four taxes combined. By

comparison, the second quintile pays only about 10 percent of their household income for the four taxes combined and the bottom quintile, less than 5 percent. Nearly half of all taxpayers end up paying no federal income tax whatsoever. In 2009, roughly 47 percent of all U.S. households, roughly 71 million households, will not owe any federal income tax, according to estimates by the Tax Policy Center, a percentage the Tax Policy Center measured at 46 percent in 2011.37 While not all the taxpayers paying no federal income tax are poor, only 1.5 percent of those making over $1 million in 2009 paid no income tax, while 69.5 percent of those making under $50,000 a year paid no income tax. Given that those earning more than $1 million a year constitute a relatively small number of people, the vast majority of the households that pay no income tax, somewhere between 70-75 million households in the United States, fall into the category of making under $50,000 a year. Moreover, almost 20 percent of all U.S. households earn so little that they will get tax refunds, in the form of earned income tax credits, even though they have paid no income tax in the first place. This first conclusion should now be clear: The rich are already paying more than their fair share of taxes. Financial analyst Steve McCann, writing in the American Thinker, posed the question, What would the United States gain if in fact the government did confiscate the wealth of socalled rich and taxed at 100 percent all the income above $200,000.00 per household per year?38 To answer the question, McCann turned to IRS statistics that indicated in 2008, there were 6.9 million taxpayers that had adjusted gross income above $200,000. Taxing at 100 percent all income over $200,000 would have yielded in 2008 a gain to the IRS of $221 billion. But in the future, who would work long enough to gain more than $200,000 in a year if the government were going to tax 100 percent of everything earned above that level? McCann further pointed out that according to IRS figures there were 2.7 million adults with a net worth above $1.5 million. If the government were to seize all wealth above the $1.5 million threshold, Washington would earn a one-time windfall of $4 trillion hardly enough when the national debt is approaching $16 trillion and the 2012 federal budget deficit could turn out to be as high as $4 trillion for that year alone. This second conclusion should now also be clear: Taxing the rich more, to the point of confiscating the earnings and wealth of the rich, would not solve the problem the Obama administration faces with a rapidly growing federal government debt that is estimated to approach $4 trillion in 2012 and a federal debt that will soon exceed $16 trillion. Still, Obama apparently is calculating that fanning the flames of class warfare, a community organizing tactic he learned from Saul Alinsky, will mobilize enough economic resentment to carry him to re-election.
