ECON 2210 MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS SEM 1 2012/2013 COURSE ASSESSMENTS _____________________________________________________________________________________

A. GROUP ASSIGNMENTS (10%) Form a group of not more than 4 members. Two sets of questions will be given for students to work out the solutions and submit before or on the due date. (Week 10, Thursday by 4 pm).

B. OPTIONAL ASSIGNMENTS 1. Read up an article on Academic Integrity available in LMS folder for ECON2210. Prepare a written (not more than one-page) response to the letter stating your pledge with regard to your commitment to Academic Integrity. Last date for submission: 27 Sept 2012. 2. Attempt any one set of final exam from the previous 2 semesters. You must attempt any 3 questions. Due date: Week 12, Thursday by 4 pm. Students who intend to submit optional assignments, please notify the course instructor by week 10 to avoid last minute submission which may delay the grading process. The marks for optional assignments will be added to the overall CAM. PROGRESSIVE ASSESMENTS Throughout the semesters students will be assessed progressively in two topical tests and one mid semester examinations. It is the responsibility of those students who missed these assessments to notify the course instructor within two weeks from the date of assessments otherwise no replacement will be arranged. TOPICAL TESTS (15%):

ECON2210 SEM1_2013 Test 1(7 %): Topic 1 until 4; tentatively Week 4 Test 2 (8%): Topic 7 and 8; tentatively Week 11

MID SEMESTER EXAMINATION (25%) Coverage : Topic1-6 Duration : 2 hours and 30 minutes Date : Friday, Week 9 - please ensure time slot for the exam does not coincide with other courses you have registered. FINAL EXAMINATION (50%) Coverage : Comprehensive (topic 1- 9) Duration : 3 hours CAM will be announced latest by Week 14 REMINDER : Please use the standard cover page as uploaded in the LMS for all assignment you hand in. You are advised to make a copy for your safe keeping before submitting all assignments for grading. Previously we have cases where assignments claimed to be submitted went missing. Please avoid late submission to ensure grading will be carried out smoothly. OTHER MATTERS ATTENDANCE RECORD Students must record their attendance for every lecture session. Please provide excuse letter or medical leave certificate to justify your absence. KENMS practices the policy to refrain students with less than 80% attendance from sitting for the final examination. ASSESMENT AND REPLACEMENT CLASS Assessment for Test 1 and Test 2 will be held during normal lecture hours. The Mid Semester exam is tentatively scheduled in Week 9. Please ensure the date and time does not coincide with other courses. The date(s) for replacement lecture session(s) class will also be announced two weeks earlier. LMS Each student is encouraged to sign up in the e-learning virtual class by 2 nd week. Please provide your latest mobile phone number and e mail address. Lecture notes, announcement and soft copy of lecture handouts or assignments will be uploaded by instructor. It is the responsibilities of the students to check progressively the announcement and download materials required.
