Overview: Welcome to Advanced Broadcast Video Production! We have made tremendous strides in our production quality in the years that I have been at North Cobb, and I expect this year to be no different. Be prepared to push yourself to learn something new this semester and lets see just how good we can be. Georgia Performance Standards: I intend to use my blog this year as an extension of the classroom, and as a part of that I am putting lots of relevant information up in cyberspace. You will be able to find the standards on the class blog. Blog: http://northcobbbvp.blogspot.com Supplies: Every student in Broadcast Video Production is expected to have the following: 1. A Professional and regularly checked email address 2. A Portable Media Storage Device (a flash drive with at least 4GB of storage space) Procedures & Discipline: The class procedures can also be found on the class blog, but are listed below for clarification. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Be respectful. Act professionally. Dispose of all food, candy, gum, and drinks before entering the classroom. NO exceptions. Follow all rules as outlined in the NCHS Student Handbook. Ask three then me.
Electronics Policy: Cell phones use is not permitted in the classroom, unless given permission by the teacher. Music players (not cell phones) can be used only with teacher approval. Students are to remove headphones or ear buds before entering the classroom. Inappropriate use of technology (anything not expressly directed by the teacher) can result in an immediate referral and revocation of technology privileges. Attendance: Any student who is not in class for any reason (excused, unexcused, I.S.S., O.S.S, etc.) is responsible for making up the work missed. All assignments missed will initially be entered as a 0 and you will have one week from the first day back to make up the assignments. As many of our assignments will be group work, which cannot be completed individually, some missed assignments may be substituted with an alternative assignment at the teachers discretion. Grading: Each assignment given this semester will be divided into one of two, which are listed below. Individual Production 50% Collaborative Production 50%
This is a graded assignment, due by the first Friday of the semester. No student will be allowed to work with any equipment, or on camera, until this form is signed and returned. Papers submitted after the first Friday of the semester will be given a zero.

Student-Parent Agreement As a student in the North Cobb High School Video Production Program, I understand that I will be held to a high expectation of professionalism, both in the classroom and in the field. I am a representative of the program and as such should always follow the classroom procedures. When outside of the room, I should be completely respectful of others, including students, teachers, and administrators. If I am not, I will accept the responsibility for my actions and the consequences of those actions, which may include having my equipment privileges revoked indefinitely, or even expulsion from the program. Furthermore, I understand that we will be using various pieces of equipment in production of video programs. As a part of this, I am aware that it is my responsibility to be trained in the proper use and care of each piece of equipment. If, while using any piece of equipment, either at school, or away, I damage or misplace the equipment, I accept that I will be responsible for the replacement cost of that equipment. If there is anything apparently wrong with the equipment before I check it out, I am required to report that to the instructor immediately. Failure to do so will result in my being responsible for the equipment replacement cost. Student and parent signatures are necessary in order to be allowed to participate in any activity involving equipment use. Failure to get this form signed could result in your removal from this class. SUBJECT: Josh Dempsey Dos Ideas #1 EMAIL Title: Teacher Valet Service BODY: Summary: Two students are sitting around trying to figure out how they can earn some money. After several unlikely suggestions, like a piggyback taxi service, one student suggests that they start a valet service for teachers. Everything seems like it will work out well when they show up the next day dressed like valets. They even have signs advertising their service. The only problem is, they dont really know how to drive and wreck most of the cars they port. The video ends with a major crash using the action movie app on the iPad.
