SITUATION: As part of the OCCUPY MN event, AIM (American Indian Movernent) will be joining OCCUPYMN to protest the proposed XL Keystone oil pipeline coming from Canada, Although the Pipeline will not pass through Minnesota, the Canadian Consulate located in Minneapolis covers several ‘westem states which would have the pipeline run through them, Protester William Knapp claimed AIM has an appointment with Caniédian Consulate on this date but that has not been confirmed. As of 10/26/11 1500 hours, The Canadian;Consulate has not raceived any request for a meeting. ‘The Consulate and the.US Dept of State Diplomatic Security Service have been notified. (Their contact info is below) ‘AIM plans on holding a press conference at 1000 hours at the Government Center Plaza and them ‘marching over to the Canadian Consulate. They plan on doing this again at 1700 hours. BACKGROUND: There have been several protests around the country including one on this same site on 912611. Approximately 35 people showed up for this including known AIM activist Clyde Bellecourt.
