A/O 4/4, users voice mailed message to exercise understanding during first startup week and call D. Larsen with concerns. Also, 4/11 mtg scheduled between McGee, Angel, Lewis, and Larsen A/O 4/4, Navjot has tried/applied several LBMS solutions, but no final fix is in sight. Conference call with London developer was not held as expected by LSI. Escalated to Local LBMS Marketing, Frank Sanzari, and Support, Bern King. Bern promised followup within a day. A/O 4/10, we resolved that SE is issuing a false warning message that there are too many databases in server path. There is no functional limit to the number of databases. An LBMS-recommended fix needs to be installed in each workstations sql.ini file. LBMS has opened an SCR with the developer to correct misleading messages. 4/10/96

A/O 8/2, local team, headed by Tina Okawa has been trained to document FABCON. Japan implementation of SE has been proposed to R. Smith. A/O 8/16, this issue is closed through the acceptance of plan for NSI support and completion of trial for Reverser. A/O 3/21/96, problem has been defined and referred to LBMS for at least part of the solution. Workarounds include doing the Reverse Engineering work from 3/26/96 (Partially) 11 April 1996

often rests in incompatible or missing DLLs which cannot be determined in advance.

proven Pcs. The problem could also rest with the source database server or the end users PC software. We need a lasting and repeatable solution. A/O 3/28/96, the specific issue was resolved for the QFS user and server. Root cause was that the end user had given Navjot the wrong server name for the QFS test server. (It was aliased in the users sql.ini file). 6/22/95 Haze/ Schuring D. Larsen ASAP Closed D. Larsen asked for additional 3/12/96 commitment through Don Hibbs on 6/23 and the Project Board on 7/7. Meeting with D. Hibbs scheduled for 7/28. A/O 8/2, this issue is fundamental allowing I-Net to contribute with quality. Issue will be taken back to Project Board as Change Request 001. A/O 8/16, Project Board approved the hiring of I-Net contract staff. Awaiting INet response to ISS Statement of Work. A/O 8/31, Barry Toth reports that I-Net cannot address Statment of Work and propose solution. A/O 12/28, Mark Taylor said Steve Haze was presenting a document to ISS on this by 1/4 3:00PM. A/O 1/2/96, I-Net (S. Haze) returned a proposal. Work needed in the future still needs to be estimated. Costs are presented for past work efforts. A/O 1/9, escalated to Don Hibbs, who delegated to Susan Scott on 1/30. A/O 2/8, Susan Scott is still hoping for progress, but issue of new outsourcer is making resolution more difficult. She owns issue for CASE as well as QFS. A/O 3/4, I-Net Special Projects will propose a Service Level Agreement based on services requested in Larsens 2/27 letter. Response due 3/11/96. A/O 3/11, very satisfactory proposal delivered. Negotiations concluded 3/12 with Lloyd 2

2 I-Net has been unable to allocate enough time from operations personnel to support this project during the first stage. The "best efforts" basis is a constraint.

A/O 12/28, Mark requested deferral to 1/4/96 (Charlie in San Diego on QFS). A/O 1/18/96, first draft delivered. Review comments fed back verbally to Mark Taylor. Keeping open for now. A/O 2/8/96, Mark Taylor said final documentation still in works. A/o 3/1, N. Cheema & P. Heyburn documented new workstation configuration. A/O 3/12 I-Net is estimating $11,790 to install 40 additional desktops, and procedures documented. 5/25/95 Hannig D. Larsen 7/1/95 Closed Orhan Baser has been hired as manager 1/18/96 and inducted to Case Implementation project. A/O 6/21 he is evaluating personnel needs for this project. A contractor will probably be required in August timeframe. A/O 7/31 Orhan has received approval for contractor hire. A/O 8/16 Orhan is planning for mid-September arrival. A/O 8/31, PR approval granted and candidates being interviewed for 9/20 arrival. Contractor authorized and on board beginning 10/23/95. A/O 1/15/96, contractor was released. No permanent staff being hired. Project will have to go into production with limited support from the Application Development Tools Group. Charlie Lewis reported on 2 outages caused 1/15/96 by operations changes with impacts on CASE server and NT network. Charlie is communicating the importance of keeping the CASE server running to staff working in Pilot/Production environment. A/O 12/28, 3 days of operations have been 11 April 1996

3 The Application Support Center manager and technical staff have not been hired as of 5/26/95.

9 The reliability of the NT network and CASE server have been poor the week of 12/18/95.

solid. A/O 1/15/96, reliability remains solid in pilot operations. Case closed. 4 What are the correct configuration items and procedures required to use Reverser from SE 6.0 at LSI with Sybase 4.9.2 and Sybase 10? 8/16/95 L. Irwin LBMS/Barber 8/24/95 Closed Using Reverser requires a correct set of 12/19/95 drivers and DLLs. A workaround set was made to work for FABCON project on 8/16. A "reusable" standard set needs to be delivered by LBMS. A/O 12/19, Navjot and Raymond were able to reverse databases with a new bundle of DLLs. This still needs to be documented. A/O 8/17, this has been reassigned to Mark Taylor. A/O 8/29, users in 1621 Barber must be connected to Net64 to access CASE servers under Novell 3.x. If any users want to be "added" it is suposed to be a relatively easy change for I-Net to accomplish. A/O 8/17, this has been reassigned to Mark Taylor. Probably requires dual protocol stack, upper memory management, and latest FTP client. A/O 8/31, answer still pending from M. McReynolds. Closed based on switch in Pilot to NT server-based CASE. 10/15/95

7 Current version of Netware does not support TCP/IP. This was originally believed to only have a material effect on non-Milpitas locations (Bracknell, Munich, Tsukuba). However, it does present a limitation in connecting the Milpitas server to the ISS Training Room in 1635 to deliver Pilot training.

I-Net will review and recommend options 8/2/95 to support the pilot, including training delivery. It is D. Larsen's understanding that the Novell network can service all of Barber Lane, including the ISS training room, in September. As of 7/20, I-Net has scheduled a meeting to present and recommend alternatives for 7/21. Should remove roadblocks. A/O 8/2, the option to use Netware 3.11 is open to us, with limitations which exclude building 1635 and 765. We can use workarounds during the Pilot Stage. I-Net to confirm some 4

details about client desktops and 1621 connectivity. 8 We need enough pilot users in a work group to test SE model "handoffs" and respository features. Two users is probably not enough. 6/22/95 D.
