How to Add More Rows

1) Unprotect the sheet (Tools > Protection > Unprotect Sheet)

2) Enter the password and click OK

3) Add more rows by drawing boxes below the desired section. Highlight a section of boxes that you want by clicking and dragging the mouse.

4) After you have highlighted the appropriate section. Make lines around the boxes by using the appropriate tool show below.

5) Color the bottom row gray to signify these are totals of the column

6) Create an auto sum for the new column by selecting one gray box and clicking the Sigma button (sum). Then highlight the section of the column that needs to be added up. You can verify what youve done by clicking on the gray box with the sum formula then click on the text at the top. This will show you in blue, what section is being added.

7) Now youll want to use that same formula across the width of the section. You can do this by clicking on the box with the formula and dragging it across the entire row of the section.

8) Now youll want the sum of the new column to show up in the original column. To do this, you will go to your original section and select a box right above a gray box. Press the return key and click the gray box in the newly added section.

9) Now youll want to use this same formula across the entire width of the section. To do this, click the box with the new formula and drag it across the entire row of the section.

10)To signify this row of numbers comes from the section below, we will color it green.

11)To prevent the formulas from being erased or tampered with, we need to lock the cells. Highlight the row of green cells, right-click on the highlighted section, and click Format Cells.

12)Click the protect tab, place a checkmark next to locked, click OK

13)Do the same to the gray boxes in the new section

14)Youll want to unlock the white cells so that when we protect the sheet, you can make access the cells where you will place the inventory data. To do this, highlight the desired section, right-click on the highlighted portion, click format cells, click the protection tab, uncheck the locked option, and click OK.

15)The last thing left to do is to protect the entire sheet and save the file. To do this, click Tools, Protection, Protect Sheet
