NARRATIVE
ON 01/13/2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:15AM, OFFICER DELEON #8889 WAS WORKINGIN OFF-DUTY CAPACITY IN FULL DALLAS POLICE UNIFORM AT THE LISTED LOCATION, WHICH IS AN APARTMENT COMPLEX IN THE CITY OF DALLAS. DURING ROUTINE PATROL OF THE APARTMENT COMPLEX, R/O OBSERVED TWO MALES WHICH APPEARED TO BE HIDING NEAR A PARKED VEHICLE. AS THE R/O NEARED THE SUSPECTS HE OBSERVED THE SUSPECTS ATTEMPTING TO BREAK INTO A VEHICLE PARKED AT THE LOCATION. R/O DREW HIS SERVICE WEAPON AND ANNOUNCED HIMSELF AS A DALLAS POLICE OFFICER AND GAVE LOUD VERBAL COMMANDS TO SURRENDER. THE SUSPECTS JUMPED INTO A RED/MAROON MONTE CARLO PARKED INTOA PARKING SPOT NEXT TO THE CAR BEING BURGLARIZED. THE SUSPECTS THEN ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED DIRECTLY TOWARDS OFFICER DELEON AS HE CONTINUED TO GIVE LOUD VERBAL COMMANDS TO SURRENDER. R/O DELEON PUSHED HIMSELF OFF THE SUSPECT VEHICLE TO AVOID BEING RUN OVER AND JUMPED OUT OF THE WAY. THE SUSPECTS FLED THE LOCATION IN AN UNKNOWN DIRECTION. NFI. "END OF ELEMENTS"
