Daniel has nished the rst month of the new school year and is excited to see how God will use him. The 4th grade class this year is much more challenging with many students who have behavioral or learning difculties. Also, the other three 4th grade teachers are new to the team. So far Daniel feels good about his new team, and is always in prayer that there can be open communication and cooperation. The class this year is much more immature, yet Daniel sees in these students much passion and cooperation. Every morning he prays for two students, and we hope you keep all of his students in your prayers. Out of eighteen, thirteen students are not Christians and are either Buddhist or Atheist. Daniels hope is to teach them about who God is and have an open dialogue through discussion and journaling with the students about their thoughts and beliefs. It has also been a joy to have parents from last year visit Daniel. They communicate how much they enjoyed their child being in his class, and how much they miss him. Our prayer is that this can be an opportunity to connect and dive into the lives of the parents. A lot of changes and challenges come with this school year, so please be in prayer for Daniel to have patience, humility, and energy to be a witness for Christ at ICS to his students and parents.

Beginning a New School Year

As we mentioned in our last letter, we have been visiting the city of Cha Am and our Thai friends who work there. They are the only Christian workers currently in Cha Am, and there are six Christians they are discipling (two of whom are children ages 7 and 14). Their outreaches are friendship evangelism, activities for children from the slums, and free English classes. Many people are interested in these English classes because of the tourism in Cha Am. However, Pastor Ang and On are limited in their English and their time. They need

assistance with all of these activities, as well as encouragement. It is very difcult for them serving alone in this city. When we met Ang and On, we both immediately felt burdened for Cha Am. The opportunity has arisen for us to join Ang and On in Cha Am. Rick Caynor, an ABWE missionary who oversees the ministry in Cha Am, has invited us to join the team. After visiting Cha Am several times, we have seen a huge need for their daughter Anna missionaries there and have decided and Pastor Ang, his wife On, that we would be a good t to join the church planting team to this unreached city. We rst consulted with our sending church Whittier Hills and they have approved for us to move forward. We have applied to ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism), since this is the agency already connected to this ministry. We have been accepted into the ABWE Assistant Missionary Program until we can return to the USA and be appointed as career missionaries. We are very excited about this move, though it will be a long process before we get there. We plan to nish this 2012-2013 school year at ICS, and head back to the USA in June 2013 to raise nancial support. We hope to spend our support-raising furlough in California for 6 months to one year, and then return to Bangkok for a few months of additional language school before moving to Cha Am. We have approval to switch our nancial support now from Ripe for Harvest to our new ABWE account so that we can begin to raise support before heading back to the USA next year. Our goal is to have $4,000 in monthly support by next summer. We hope to raise as much monthly support as possible before going to the USA in order to return to Thailand as quickly as possible. Please consider partnering with us nancially as we endeavor to bring the gospel to the unreached Thai people in Cha Am.
