I - Reading Comprehension

Electronic Media
Electronic media has simplified our world and made it increasingly complex, all at the same time. With the advent of Internet, the exchange of information has become relatively fast and easy. The Internet provides access to a wealth of electronic media, including e-mail, blogs, chat sites, websites, newsletters, e-zines, and e-books. This information can be used for educational purposes, to encourage discussion, or even for general interest. Thanks to the Internet, and the electronic publishing, we have access to it all. Yet there are some drawbacks associated with the ease with which information can be posted. Many people feel overwhelmed by the wealth of information, and its accuracy. Few of us have time to verify the veracity of everything we read, which means a lot of information on the Internet could be false. There`s also a concern that some of the information posted be inappropriate for some audiences, and should therefore be restricted. However, given the size of the Internet and the millions who use it, it can be difficult to track down the supposed offender, and to limit others access to the material once it is online. Whether this is a good thing, or a bad thing, depends on your ideas about free speech, censorship, and access.
