ABOUT THE PROGRAMME In 1985, U.G.C. prepared a blue print for promotion of Human Rights teaching and research at all levels of education. Since then U.G.C. has been striving hard to promote Human Rights and Duties Education in Universities and Colleges. Through a series of courses U.G.C. has been aiming to make the learners acquire conceptual clarity and develop respect for norms and values of freedom, equality, fraternity and justice with their philosophical, ethical, social, economic and political dimensions. In this backdrop, S.V.R.M. College, Nagaram has decided to educate graduate and post-graduate students, civil society groups, NGOs, Social Action Groups and law enforcement personnel about Human Rights. This U.G.C. sponsored programme has the following objectives. a) b) c) d) to sensitize the citizens so that the norms and values of Human Rights and duties education programme are realized. to develop a sense of democratic rights and constitutional obligations to promote a deeper understanding of individual and collective rights to encourage research activities.

Shree Velagapudi Ramakrishna Memoria3l College, Nagaram was established on 29th August 1969, affiliated to reputed Acharaya Nagarjuna University, Nagarjuna Nagar, Guntur Dist., covered under section (2f) and 12B of UGC Act, 1956 and accredited by NAAC as B+ The college campus is of 28.74 Acres with a built up area of 1,14,856 Sq.ft. The details of staff: Teaching Staff 55 members and Non-Teaching Staff 36 members. Intermediate, Degree and PG courses of different combination groups are offered. Jawahar knowledge Centre, NCC unit and 2 Units of NSS and Red Ribbon Unit are established DST, Inspire Science Camps FIVE National level seminars Eleven and State level Seminars Three were conducted till now.
