PSALM 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid.

FALL 2012

Team Ministry
It has been such an amazing thing to see the Lord burden the hearts of so many to serve Him here with the team ministry. We have had enormous growth in our medical and dental teams. With at least 6 different medical teams having served here by years end! These teams not only provide physical healing, but are an amazing way to reach these people with the love of Christ. The work teams have helped accomplish many necessary renovations and repairs to our existing infrastructure. AMG Guatemala is approaching 40 years so we have many facilities that are aging and need much updating. These teams have accomplished things such as new roofs, rewiring, kitchen renovation, painting, and a multitude of other tasks. Many of the teams have a whole other component as well for people who have gifts and abilities in teaching and discipling. It has been such a privilege to see a man leave the job site and go talk to a group of teenage boys about a life of service, being sold out to Christ, and not to seek earthly pursuits, or when a group of ladies takes to a classroom and shares a Bible story to a young group of children that listen to every word with such a keen interest. I have seen it again and again the eternal impact that these things have on these kids, and how the Lord is using these things to draw them to Him. As I have worked with this area of ministry now for over a year one area that has been on my heart is how we can effectively partner with the local church with the teams ministry. As I have prayed and studied, it has been made clear what our part and purpose is. We are to come in right behind the local church and support in whatever ways the Lord provides to accomplish His purpose in these communities. We have all heard the expression to be in step with the Lord, well my expression with this is we want to follow one step behind the local church, supporting, partnering, and working with them to have the opportunities to reach the communities for Christ with the local ability for discipleship and growth that is so greatly needed. It is my prayer that all of the teams would build relationships that would last into eternity with the people they come and serve here in Guatemala. Bringing back with them a renewed vision of what missions is and how the Lord can effectively use each one of us to accomplish His purposes to every land and every people.

Land of Eternal Spring

We live in the Land of Eteral Spring. What does that mean? Well, there are no seasons to separate time. A simple thing right, but when you have lived your whole life saying in the Fall, or when when Winter is over it changes the way you live. The only seasons here are rainy and dry, six months of each, so time has a way of passing. It is hard to believe that we have been here 2 years next month! The Lord tore my heart for this country over a decade ago when I arrived in Guatemala for my first time, and now the whole family serving here is such an amazing privilege and blessing. We have been working tirelessly as a ministry to review all of what we do and seek the Lords direction in all areas. Our renewed vision for the future is called The Bridge to Life. In the areas we work there is no hope. Our desire is to give the young people of Guatemala a hope. That they are a special and unique creation in their Creators eyes, and a hope for their future. We have completed the new website which we are using as a tool to share this vision, strategy, and how the Lord has allowed us to have so many key partners to accomplish this. www.amgg.org The eternal hope that is brought through a personal relationship with our Lord and savior is the only thing that will permanently repair these broken and hopeless children and families.

Ministry Highlights
The Lord has blessed us with many new partners and alliances this year with like minded organizations sharing a common goal and purpose that we have. We now have formal agreements with University Mariano Galvez (the largest private university in Guatemala), Young Life, and International Justice Mission. (IJM) All of these partners are key pieces that the Lord has brought to allow us to be effective for Him in our ministry here.

New AMG Guatemala Website

We are excited to announce the release of our new website www.amgg.org The transition coincides with the launch of AMG Internationals new website www.amginternational.org which has new features that allow you to search for sponsored children directly, also allows you to support our family, and other ministry programs of AMG. Please take time to visit both sites and learn more about the Lords work in Guatemala and around the world.

Family News
Abby continues to work at CAG. She is a teachers
aide for the kindergarten class, and a shadow teacher for one of the children in 2nd grade. She is also teaching piano to a handful of students. She continues to study on-line for her degree through Moody Bible Institute. She is also in the process of attaining her Guatemalan residency. We love having her with us still but know that our days are limited with her being home with us. On campus life instead of online college is very tempting .

Anna is in 4th grade has fallen in love with reading.

This is such a joy for us to watch! She has a wonderful teacher , and she has instilled the love of reading in her. Anna has also just started taking gymnastics and loves it! If you know Anna at all, you know that she was born to tumble, hang, jump and bounce. So, this is her thing! She has just been asked to enter a higher level of instruction.

Claire is in 3rd grade. She

has taken up gymnastics as well. She is never too far from the heels of Anna. She just turned 8 not sure how that is possible. She is busy all the time, from friends to gymnastics to making a craft. She is never bored!

Betsy is a senior this year. How has that happened? She continues to play volleyball. She will be playing at the national gym every weekend and is looking forward to that this year. After graduation she would like to pursue volleyball and take Spanish classes here in Guatemala for 1 year. Then she is interested in pursuing a degree in some sort of international work, and possibly cosmetology. She is still praying about all of that. She is active in youth group and worship team.

Megan is enjoying being in 10th grade this

year and not being the low man on the totem pole. She has great friends and is always with them. Whether that is at our house, or she is over their houses. She is looking forward for soccer to start soon. She misses the playing seasons that she had in the states and would like to play more here. I think we need to look into that for her. After all, we are in Guatemala where they play non-stop!

Cabot is in 7th grade, and on Student Council.

He loves being the class leader. This was something that we never saw coming but, he is doing a great job at it. He just finished up his middle school soccer. It was a tough season for them. But, they had great attitudes while they played and learned some very important lessons while playing. Jen is active at the kids school and involved in the discipleship program there with the 7th grade girls. During the week we help lead our churches Youth Group at our house. We are truly blessed to be involved in so many different ministries here.

Baby is about a month old now and started her life

abandoned on a doorstep. While it is our prayer that our ministry efforts would help prevent situations like this, there are still many children who have no known family. We have been praying for awhile if adoption is what the Lord would have for us and through many different means and ways it has been shown that we should pursue this. While there is no guarantee that we would get this child, the Lord has used the life of this little one to expose us to how precious each life is, and the privilege we can have to share in such a life. contact info Email: pwilson@ amgguatemala.org To send mail only (no packages) The Wilsons Section 3990/GUA PO Box 02-5339 Miami, FL 33102
