Dear Family, Our Catholic faith is one of the most blessed and precious gifts that we have received. We are blessed to have our Catholic grammar school here at St. Dennis. Each year, we celebrate our catholic identity and our catholic grammar school during Catholic Schools Week. This week begins with a special Mass at 11 am as we celebrate the theme this year, Catholic Schools: Raise the Standards. Besides the excellent academic program we run at St. Dennis School, we pass onto our children the values of discipline, hard work, integrity and honesty. Our children experience in our school the spirit of compassion and generosity towards others, the wonderful traditions of our faith at Mass, Reconciliation and the importance of the Blessed Mother in their lives. They learn the value of prayers and the power of the Holy Spirit, the word of God and the importance of familytheir own and their faith family in the parish. Our children are gifted with how much they are loved and special in the eyes of God. Immediately after Mass at noon, all are invited to tour our school at our Open House. Please come see our new computer and science labs, the wonderful SMARTBoards in every classroom, childrens special exhibits, projects and artwork. If you are unable to attend the Open House and would like to learn more about our school, please visit our website at www.saint-dennis.org/school. In the Lords Love, Fr. Jim Curtin

The Holy Spirit is the principle of every vital and truly saving action in each part of the Body. He works in many ways to build up the whole Body in charity: by Gods Word which is able to build you up; by Baptism, through which he forms Christs Body; by the sacraments, which give growth and healing to Christs members; by the grace of the apostles, which holds first place among his gifts; by the virtues, which make us act according to what is good; finally, by the many special graces (called charisms), by which he makes the faithful fit and ready to undertake various tasks and offices for the renewal and building up of the Church. (CCC, n. 798)

THE LORD SUSTAINS HIS PEOPLE The 2013 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal begins with a mailing that many of our parishioners have received or will soon receive. This year, the theme of the Appeal is The Lord Sustains His People. The Lord sustains each of us in many ways. His life, death and resurrection were all gifts to each of us. He gives us all that we have. He gave us our Church. That Church, through our parish, our diocese, and throughout the world offers us not only spiritual but many other forms of sustenance.

The word of God provides instruction, challenge, and promise for all who believe. As we receive God's word, we must be open to all that it holds for us. We are called to rejoice that we possess God's word, follow it, and have it fulfilled in our lives. We respond through our gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure.
