r KneadTrapezius Knead trapezius muscles for 30-60 seconds.

2 Paraspinal Pressure Stand behind the client approximately one foot from the chair. Place handson the
Points 1 shoulders with thumbs placed on opposite sides of upper thoracic spine. Apply

I then release. Move down into Y, inch segments, repeating sequence until the full
span of the hand has been reached, (fingers should still be on the shoulders).

3 Paraspinal Pressure Working in the same area as in movement 2, thumbs should now be placed one

7 Neck Kneading Placing one hand on forehead to stabilize head, use the opposite hand to knead
neck muscles from bony prominence at base of skull (occiput) to baseof neck and
back again. Repeat 5 times
8 Neck Squeeze Pinch neck muscle at occiput using firm pressure. Squeeze muscie f9r five seconds,
then release. Progressdown to baseof neck in Y, inch intervals. Repeat se.quence
three times. Soothe massagearea with three downward strokes.
9 Occipital Circles and Place one hand on forehead to stabilize head, with the other make 3 small circles
Hook beginning just behind the ear on occipital area. At the end of the 3'd circle pull
upward and hook on the bony ridge (occipital ridge), hold 3-5 seconds. Move along
to the other side contlnuing in the same way.
10 Passive Neck
Placing one hand on forehead to stabilize head, and the other hand on baseof
Rotation
head, rotate head from side to side three times each direction. (Have subject close

eyes if inclined to get dizzy).

Place both forearms in the shoulder next to the neck. Using the fleshiest part of

the forearm apply alternation pressure to create a rocking motion. Move forearm
toward outer shoulder then toward the neck again using lighter pressure over the
outer bony areas. Repeat three times on each side.

Orcular Knuckle
While firmly holding one shouldfr-, press knuckles firmly into skin above the
Friction opposite scapula, making small circular movements smoothly toward spine.
