The Alien Adventure

The Saga begins
The year: 2673. The place: Planet Marthonia. Galaxy: Not classified. Chapter One (Planet Earth) Aliens. Martians. Life on other planets. These were all things that we Earthlings have been wondering for years if they existed or not. All the puny scientists, having their wonderful evidence that there was something living out there. How they knew? They didnt know. They just made a silly proposition and laid down some scrawny pieces of evidence that didnt prove anything. Although they did very little to support their wild theory, they knew that what they did could make them the headlines on every paper around the world. For, you see, no one believed in aliens anyway, so they wouldnt care if one man did. It wouldnt lower his standings among people because of his weird beliefs, but it could also, by slight chance, make him extremely well known. How? If there actually were aliens or foreign life forms found to exist during the short period while he was alive, then he could brag how he predicted it, and everyone would have to agree. Even if they said he never did know, he could just point out that now there were aliens and that was all he would have to say. So a low profile scientist had nothing to lose by claiming these absurd statements. Thats exactly what scientist Henry J. Gordon did. At first, no one thought much about it. It was in either a small caption on the front page of minor newspapers, but hidden on some back page of all the big-hitters. The only reason it made the news was because it had been so long since those failed reports on Mars rovers and couple to Mercury, over 500 years ago. It was sort of appealing to the readers eye, just because the word alien was almost always included in the title. It would briefly state how Mr. Gordon had discovered a new substance found deep within one of the tiny rocks from the Aronith 3 brought back from its journey to Mars back in 2126. The Aroniths 5.1 and 5.2, which were a pair of robots that ventured to Mars and then to Mercury in 2154, were the last machines to leave Earth in search of life in our solar system. No other scientists questioned his method for finding the substance or where it was or anything related to his discovery. They were all convinced that it was just another false idea, so they let him have his little bit of attention before it ran out. He described the substance as a small germ that certain humans have. It is found in those that are intentionally born to be geniuses, which many people did to their children by altering the DNA of the children before they even came to exist in the females body. This took away the original meaning of having sex, but many people were willing to have a genetically altered child so they could have a son or daughter that would grow up to compete in the future of the world and its society. After about half a week of it being a minor topic in the national news around the globe, it died down and was only able to be found on Gordons private web page that he already had because he was a scientist, among few other supporters of his theory. It was about eight months later, which was right before December. November th 30 , to be exact, of 2673. Since the birth of the Hubble Telescope in 1977, they had become the worlds most renowned telescope. The United Provinces of America (U. P. A.), with help from many other countries involved in outer space and what lies beyond,

Mitchell Miller 2005 such as Germany, Russia, and many smaller European countries, put millions of dollars into building more Hubble Telescopes, named HT 1, HT 2, and so on. It was 696 years later, and nine more had been built. The countries didnt want to spend too much on the telescopes for many reasons. One reason was that telescopes werent the only way to find out about life on other distant planets. The most common way was to study the rocks and particles the rovers from our galaxy brought back to us. Another reason was that most people at that time didnt even think foreign life was possible thanks to the latest findings. They knew one or two wouldnt be enough, and the people would definitely not approve of more than ten gigantic telescopes. Even though they didnt have 100% support to build eight more, they managed to get it in as a necessary component for scoping life on distant places. It was November 30th, and one of the researchers at the Arizona Astronomical Space Academy (AASA) saw something that caught his eye. As he was scrolling through the daily clips of very far off planets, he noticed one that he found somewhat peculiar. There was a picture from the HT 4 that made him take notice. The picture had wonderful clarity for being approximately 500 light years away, but the future brings along many new advances in technology. It was not too clear, but it looked like a large building of some sort that spread across the planet. The whole research team was soon informed, but none of them could tell what it was. Some of them thought it was a blurry part of the image, but most of them thought it somewhat resembled a building. It was only debatable because it didnt look like a building from America. It was very long and wide, but no more than one story high, so it was very weird looking. Since they couldnt agree whether it was something unnatural or not, word wasnt released to the public yet. It was told to all other space administrations and quickly all the Hubble Telescopes and other small telescopes were aimed toward that spot of the universe that the HT 4 had told it had taken the picture from. At that moment, it wasnt seeable, so they all presumed it was being blocked by another planet. Suspicion grew about the strange picture, so everyone was eager to wait. A week later, the first pictures came back of the same planet emerging again; bringing back hopes of proving aliens existed. They could still only see one small part of it, like drawings of the moon. After an hour though, the large planet blocking it had moved to reveal about half the planet. The HT 6 was known to have better quality pictures, so it was the first one to take a full-scale shot. When the picture came back, no one believed their eyes. They saw the same building as before, but almost twice as clear. There was no doubting now that what lay before their eyes was a structure of some sort. They debated among themselves about whether or not to tell the public about it. They decided that there was no reason not to, so they told the press, and that night it was all over the news and the next morning it was a virus, spreading all over the newspapers. Never had they such a big headline since the secret plasma weapons found underground in Antarctica in 2448. No one who lived then was alive, so it wasnt a topic to talk about much. All over titles and headlines for this amazing discovery were things such as, Henry J. Gordon was Right! Gordons Propositions Were True! and How Did Gordon Know! Talk and rumors began to spread everywhere. It was indeed a virus, but now it had spread to people all over the world. You couldnt walk outside without hearing of the incident. It was for sure a virus, and there seemed no possible cure. Rumors began about

Mitchell Miller 2005 whether they were friendly aliens or whether they were evil Martians plotting to destroy us all. The evil Martians theory didnt get much attention, so it was soon disbanded. All of the Goths living in the United Provinces and all around the globe thought it was their calling, and that if they died then they would go to the stars, much like the Christians believed in Heaven. All the minor occurrences that had anything remotely to do with the reported sightings were instantly put into public view. The alien pictures were like a great fire, and people just kept feeding the flame. Of course they were aliens, or so-called by the Earthlings, which Earth referred to itself as. The people on Earth continued taking pictures of the mysterious planet whenever possible, and they rarely got new sightings. Not once yet had they gotten close enough to see any living creatures. That was about to change. Three and a half weeks later, after talk had died down a bit, they were able to get a clear shot that was twice as close as they had gotten before. Although it was still very blurry, they could clearly see a living creature. To the scientists and staff observing the newly acquired picture, it was best described as a giant blob. The more they zoomed in on it, the more pixel-like it looked, so they really had no way to describe the thing yet. It was four days later that they had a picture that actually could make out something. Mathematicians observed the picture and saw three creatures. They used the knowledge they had on their own buildings to try and determine the approximate height of these beasts. Two of them came out around five feet nine inches, but the third came out a little over eight feet. They didnt have the same form as those represented in all the previous alien movies and dramas, but they had more of an advanced look. The people of Italy first came up with the term for them as fnrms, which Americans adopted as borganisms. The people on Earth knew nothing on what they should do except continue scanning to try and uncover more information. The World Emperor, Gilbert Franklin Joselin, suggested that we try and find a way to communicate with them. No one cared much, but there were very rare negative responses to this request, many just to get attention. What the Earthlings didnt know was that they wouldnt be able to have any contact besides pictures until years to come. Thats another story. Now on to the real story in perspective of life forms other than those on Earth. Chapter Two (Planet Marthonia) On Planet Marthonia and its surrounding regions, there were three main races, or species. Each one was developing a certain tool, or what they called super-weapons, in order to decimate the other species from the planet. The three species were the Unus, the Protonites, and the Mortimers. The Unus, who were more for culture and religion just a little more than the Protonites and the Mortimers, were working on a cloaking device. No matter how religious they were, they were all very aggressive and strove to be fight-ready at any moment. The Protonites, who were for all-out war with anyone who opposed them, had no religion whatsoever. They were working on a missile that would be powerful enough to annihilate a whole colony. It was much like a nuclear missile, only far more advanced and powerful. The Mortimers were a bit more divided. Some believed in a god, but most were atheists who didnt have a faith at all. The Mortimers were trying to build a force field that could not be entered but could only be exited from the inside. Each race

Mitchell Miller 2005 put forth non-stop effort towards their super-weapon, and they were all close to nearing completion. These foreign life forms were very different than the people on Earth. They had an evolution system, but it didnt take millions and billions of years as imagined. Each species had different types of creatures. They all had some that scurried across the ground on four appendages, some similar that could burrow underground, and some that were able to fly. Only elite-born creatures were able to burrow and fly, since that genetic trait was recessive and only found in one of every four hundred or so of each group. Each civilization had a single queen who was the main source of everything from that particular race. The queen lived in the center of the hive, which was extremely well protected, and she was the only female critter of all. She would give birth to another three beings every day. The creatures began at the first step of evolution. The highest they could become was at the fifth level, except for the Mortimers, who only had four. You would think that everyone would want to become the highest level, but it took very, very long periods of time. In order to jump each level, it took about three fourths of a year. Each level was significantly stronger than its predecessors. In order to evolve, one must go to the hive and after a day they will form a cocoon. When they broke the cocoon, they would be the full extent of that level. Often there were some that broke out too early or too late, which would make them a small bit weaker or stronger than others of the same type. Whether they were super-strong or not, mass numbers could wipe out strong creatures almost always. Most individuals would evolve once, but then they would stop there. The most common reason was that when they came back to consciousness, they had missed so many things. Only the ones that had nothing in life and wanted to just become extremely powerful evolved more than two stages. Very rarely did one attempt the fourth level, and less than twice a year did one attempt to go to the highest, level five. The Protonites had one ancestor particularly known for his strength. He went all the way to level five, but it took him twice as long as usual, so he was much like an army of his own, singularly fending off a whole group of level two and three creatures, until he tried to eliminate the Unus queen by himself but was quickly outnumbered by a sheer mass of Unus protectors of the hive. Once a queen died, which would come naturally after around 900 years, she would lay an egg, which would soon become the next queen. The obvious way to rid a colony once and for all was to kill the queen and then destroy the egg, which was protected by an enormously thick covering that would take hours to break. Each colony, which there would be one per planet, had its own queen. Attempts to destroy the queen had happened before, but they were never successful. To be continued
