2 Mode of operation
When a subscriber forwards a call, the call data of the calling subscriber and the forwarding subscriber can be presented at the forwarding destination. Call data include, for example: national directory number (local area code + directory number) international directory number (country code + local area code + directory number) subaddress (if available) The call data are transported between the originating network node and the destination network node as SS7 messages. If the forwarding destination is an ISDN subscriber, the network node forwards the call data as a DSS1 message via the D channel. In the case of an analog subscriber, the network node forwards the call data by means of FSK. If a forwarding subscriber has activated the feature Called Line Identification Restriction (CALR), presentation of the call data at the forwarding destination is suppressed. The subscriber wishing to suppress presentation of his/her call data has a choice between two feature options: issue of authorization and activation by the operator issue of authorization by the operator and control of the feature by subscriber controlled input If the operator activates the feature, presentation of the call data is suppressed permanently. If the feature is controlled by subscriber controlled input the subscriber can activate and deactivate the feature as required or start a status check. Suppression of call data presentation is ignored if the subscriber to whom the call is being forwarded has activated the feature Called Line Identification Restriction Ignoring (CALRIGN) (used by the police departments, for example).

3 Subscriber controlled input

The feature can be administrated by subscriber controlled input. For the subscriber procedure, see: Analog subscriber Subscriber controlled input functions Signaling method Analog Pulse Activate Deactivate Enter data Delete data Enter data and activate Delete data and deactivate Activate with/without data Feature use Interrogate state Interrogate data Interrogate state with/without data Access code The access code for subscriber controlled input consists of a maximum of 6 characters. It can be formed from the symbols 5 , # and the service code (SC) with the digits 0 ... 9. The operator can specify the character strings for the access code. Differences by pulse dialing The selected digits are not obligatory; other digits can be input (depending on the existing numbering plan). 1111 at the beginning of an input in place of 5 1112 at the beginning of an input in place of # 1113 at the beginning of an input in place of 5 # 5 as a disconnecting signal after the service code is not relevant # after the subscriber controlled input is not relevant X X ------------X ----DTMF X X ------------X ----ISDN Keypad ----------------------Funct. -----------------------
