This document contains the required and optional steps needed to run the Service Pack Installer (the

SP Installer) for Hyperion System 9 BI+ (version 9.3.1.1). The patch can be applied on top of a 9.3.1.0 installation only. Required: Steps Before Running the SP Installer Utility 1. Modify patch.bat(sh) script: a. Set BIPLUS_HOME (BI+ home) environment variable. b. (Optional): Set the MIGRATION_HOME environment variable if you need to patch the Migration Utility. 2. Modify the patch.properties file: a. Set the patch.version property (by default it is pre-configured to contain the correct version, for example.9.3.1.1.0.265). b. dbconfig.dbdriver used DB driver

c. dbconfig.dburl JDBC url d. dbconfig.username user name for the Repository database e. db.password Repository database password (it is no recommended to set this value in patch.properties due to security reasons, the SP installer prompts for a db password during the patching process in this case) f. db.type type of repository DB (allowed values are Oracle, DB2, sqlerver)

Required: Run the SP Installer Utility 1. Run the patch.bat(sh) script. 2. If SP Installer detected BIPLUS_HOME points to the correct target directory, as the first step it prompts: Stop all services and servlets and then press enter... 3. Once the SP Installer finishes, analyze logs files in the ./log directory.
4. SP Installer delivers a new version of a war file used for deployment

(<BI+_HOME>/InstallableApps/workspace_unconfigured.war). You must re-deploy the repacked war file using the Configuration Utility by executing the Application Server Deployment task.

Usage Notes: 1. If you need to patch the installation partially (by default running
patch.bat(sh)), the following options are available: services services-IR uiservices uiservices-workspace client client-IR client-DDS migration repservices Note that if you select no parameters the whole patch is applied. You can start the patch.bat(sh) script with the following available targets:
patch.bat(sh) [services services-IR uiservices uiservicesworkspace client client-IR client-DDS migration repservices]

You can run patch.bat(sh) with multiple targets simultaneously. For instance, to patch an existing BI+ server installation without the Client, Migration and RepServices, you can run the following commands:
patch.bat(sh) services uiservices

Required Steps After Running the SP Installer Utility: 1. Update two JavaScript files within the dynamic 'RM' folder, if it exists, by competing the following: a. Open the <BIPLUS_HOME>/data folder, and search for a folder name that begins with 'RM', for example, "C:\Hyperion\BIPlus\data\RM1_w2k3svr-winupdates".

b. If the 'RM' folder exists, navigate from this folder to: root\Administration\0\Script_Repository. For example, "C:\Hyperion\BIPlus\data\RM1_w2k3svrwinupdates\root\Administration\0\Script_Repository" c. In this folder, back up the following files to a safe location: JavascriptUpdate.js JavascriptUpdateConfig.js d. Replace the two files in this folder with the files from your Service Pack data folder, specifically: 9.3.1.1.0.nnn_<platform_name>\9.3.1.1.0.nnn_<platform_nam e>\client\client-DDS. For example, "9.3.1.1.0.263_win32\9.3.1.1.0.263_win32\client\clientDDS" Copy the two files in this folder to the RM folder found in Step b (replacing the originals): JavascriptUpdate.js JavascriptUpdateConfig.js
