SUMMARY • Cleaning, lubricating, and repairing pumps and vessels, using hand tools and equipment.
• Connecting hoses and pipelines to pumps and vessels prior to material transfer.
• Monitoring gauges and flowmeters and inspecting equipment to ensure that tank levels,
temperatures, chemical amounts, and pressures are at specified levels, reporting
abnormalities as necessary.
• Planning movement of products through lines to processing, storage, and shipping units,
utilizing knowledge of interconnections and capacities of pipelines, valve manifolds,
pumps, and tankage.
• Reading operating schedules or instructions or receive verbal orders, in order to determine
amounts to be pumped.
• Recording operating data such as products and quantities pumped, stocks used, gauging
results, and operating times.

EXPERIENCE Aviation Boatswain's Mate - Fuels ABF, 2000 – 2008; Honorable Discharge
• Specialized in launching and recovering aircraft on the flight deck of the USS George
Washington, assisting in the delivery of 24+ million gallons of jet fuel in the 4 years of
service, with 16,934 mishap free sorties.
• Operated, maintained and performed organizational maintenance on aviation fueling and
lubricating oil systems on CVs, CVNs, LPHS and LPDS.
• Responsible for the integrity and safety of over 24 flightdeck and belowdeck jet fueling
stations, including roving and validating in writing each station on their condition status.
• Observed and enforced handling safety precautions and maintained fuel quality
surveillance and control in aviation fuel systems.
• Supervised the operation and servicing of fuel farms and equipment associated with the
fueling and defueling of aircraft ashore and afloat.
• Worked with fire fighting crews, fire rescue teams, and damage control parties in
assigned fuel and lubricating oil spaces.
• Provided upkeep maintenance of transfer fuel pumps that pump jet fuel to the flightdeck
from the bottom on the ship.
