A non-native friend showed me this group e-mail entitled "Enough is Enough" that is being and misinformation so I decided to respond via The Google with a dissertation. For purposes of discussion I will enclose portions of the original e-mail:
""ENOUGH IS ENOUGH Ladies and Gentlemen, On a very serious note and regarding the "Idle No More" movement, I offer the following: 1) No one in Canada is above the law of the land 2) Your economic well-being is your responsibility. It is not the government's job to pay you to fish and hunt. 3) Employment rules apply to everyone. If you can't get a job where you live: Move." Idle No More" at your expense! 4) If you receive public funds; you are accountable. Penalties apply. 5) Theft is theft; see 1) above. 6) If the funds are badly spent or the recipients do not care for the infrastructure and benefits provided; the funds will not be replaced. 7) Treaties will be respected in the context of the date of the treaty and the standards of the day. 8) Your administrative costs and the pay of your local leadership will be set by the people that fund your operation. 9) As our municipalities are governed by provincial rules; so the reserves will be governed by federal rules.""

I will only say that I feel badly for the author of "Enough is Enough". If you think my people are worthless and lazy just say so. I have been invited to speak at Universities and other institutions in my area as an unofficial ambassador of Six Nations of history instead. I dont want to scare anyone or melt faces. For the good of my future this information comes from the Haudenosaunee/Iroquois people in relation to the the after effects of Colonialism. and instead of teaching real information I usually smile and shake hands. OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND

Chapter One

Before I can begin to address the Law of the Land we must ask the question "Who's land is it anyway?" A large part of the problem with social justice in Canada is that it takes a university level understanding of politics, history, law and anthropology to get a full picture of the complicated situation. That reason alone should explain why the predicament isnt easily solved. Additionally, I am also interested in the side topic to land known as Treaty Spanish and Dutch as well. The colloquial use of the word "Indian" is used so that all Law. Treaties are best described as the original relationship agreement between the two from across the atlantic, usually English but also other European nations such as French, parties "Indian" and "Settler". The term Settler in this paper is used to describe the people not meant to be implied (this is not about status Indians as defined by Canada). I should readers will be able to comprehend these concepts but the legal use of the word "Indian" is

mention that the word Indian is generally considered to be racist and intolerant but I am using it for purposes of consistency. My nation prefers the word Onkwehonwe (Oh-gweyho-wey) to identify us which can be translated as "complete person" or "original people". and terminology which they may prefer.

Each of the 630 different nations of indigenous peoples in Canada have their own language Here is a shocking statement. The Indian people possess title for almost every acre of land in "Canada" and have not sold or surrendered it. Read that through a few times

Above and beyond common between our two great peoples. I personally believe that neither culture is superior they Dwarfs and the Elves in Lord of the Rings mythology. Neither civilisation is greater, they are different yet equal. two terms have different meanings. This is an important reality that we have always known title. Most land considered as "sold" to the Settlers was either fraudulent or unauthorized in some other way. Of course certain exceptions to the rule may apply and there may be you wonder if the land was really purchased from the Indians or not! tracts of land that were properly acquired, ceded or given away and those parcels can be discussed in another forum. The Hodiyanehso (Chiefs) represent the voice of the creation stories and ceremonial dances. Each Chief would be paired with his own Clan common people within our system of law and they operate under direction of their Clan Mothers. THE GREAT LAW OF PEACE

Chapter Two

So to specifically address point #1 in the "Enough is Enough" e-mail, the Law of the Land is really Indian Law which is specifically called Gayansrakowa in our language which is often translated as The Great Law or The Great Peace. The Gayansrakowa is not a vague estimate its intrinsic value and application for our modern world. To be fair, the

studied and researched at length . Nor is our law to be dismissed as vain indian religion or savage myth but should be disseminated by scholars and international academia to the process of being restored and is practiced to a certain extent, especially at the Six because this is not England or Rome. Therefore, the Canadian and the American

Indian people did not have Mann has written about the new scientific evidence indicating that 95% of Indian people died from diseases in the 18th and 19th centuries and are still struggling to survive. This immunity to sickness such as influenza, typhoid fever or smallpox. Simultaneously we see the bloody, violent removal of indigenous people from their homes across North America

The Idle No More movement Another important issue is the validity of conquest. I personally believe that nation to Onkwehonwe Indians had been conquered by war in 1677 instead of being bound by Treaty then most of these land issues would be a moot point and we would be happy native people are still operating under the seductive illusion of ethno-superiority

A lesser known fact is that the Haudenosaunee, also known as Six Nations Iroquois made Covenant (Treaty) relationships with the early Settlers because we were

undefeatable in war due to our large numbers. The precontact Indian population of North America is estimated at 120 million . So it was our collective power and unity that put us in position to make treaties with the Settler nations. I have been told another reason why

the settlers avoided conflict with our people was because of our thorough knowledge of the

I want to get rid of the Indian problem. Our objective is to continue until there is not a single Indian in Canada that has not been absorbed into the body politic. Dr. Duncan Campbell Scott, 1920

By the end of the 19th century the de facto government held all of our lands and monies in "trust" because we did not speak fluent English or use banks and we werent familiar with the concepts of debt and usury anyway. It has been said that we had chests of gold bullion

Receiving a lump sum from the Federal government as a land claim is the very worst thing an indigenous nation can do because it solidifies Canadas position of dominance and irrevocably destroys our ancient connection to the land. My

advice is that the Indians should re-evaluate the 99-year leases and demand resource and

taxation sharing, not because we are greedy or lazy but because it is in accordance with our original agreements of respect, honor and friendship. It is absolutely inconceivable that an Indian Act even exists in this politically correct post-modern age. Can anyone even begin to

This final chapter is about the spiritual implications of systematic treachery, theft, and

Here is the condensed version: created the universe and who cares about the events that happen on earth. We will call this entity either the Creator or God which may be used interchangeably. You may be surprised nations of people. All Canadians and other interested parties should research and refer to the Israel & Gibeonite Covenant as found in scripture (See Joshua Chapter 9, and II Samuel

The Gibeonite nation tricked the powerful Israelites into entering a peace treaty with them. After the deceit was found out, the terms of the treaty were still honored by Israel because breaking a treaty was considered worse than lying. It should be noted that The Creator did not command their leader Joshua to make this treaty, in fact he warned him NOT to enter hundred years passed by and Joshuas successor King Saul decided to break the peace Sauls crown was taken away. money, he went to the Gibeonites themselves and honored them with proper protocol.

"David said, What shall I do for you? How shall I make amends so that you will bless the Lords inheritance? The Gibeonites answered him, We have no right to demand silver or gold from Saul or his family, nor do we have the right to put anyone in Israel to death. What do you want me to do for you? David asked.""
It was then decided by the Gibeonites that only blood could pay for blood and justice would be achieved through the death of seven Israelites. The King was willing to sacrifice seven of his own and the blood debt was paid with people of royal lineage and I am sure there were the divine perspective, justice must come before reconciliation. The famine was lifted and the country was reinvigorated by a period of peace, friendship and trust. If these overthrown and even worse, plagues would have destroyed his people (Exodus 23:9, saying All is forgiven. Leviticus 26:14-46). Without going into deeper theology this account also explains why Jesus had to legally suffer and die on a cross instead of waving his hand like a Jedi and redeeming steps had not been taken the Bible says that Davids kingdom would have been many tears as this powerful reconciliation was made between two sovereign nations. From

If we contrast this ancient account with our Covenant made between the Haudenosaunee and the Monarchy a few things are made clear. The first is that if there is a Creator, he is watching national politics as Supreme Judge and secondly, he is willing to intervene on behalf of the offended parties. It is in Canadas best interest to understand these spiritual
