RICK PERRY GOVERNOR

Mr. Georgc Kollitides, II Chief Executive Officer

Freedom Group, Inc, P.O.Box 1776 Madison, North Carolina 27 025-177 6 Dear Mr, Kollitides

I understand the State of New York is seriously considering a law requiring arms manufacturers to mirostamp firing pins with the make, model and serial number of the guns in which they are installed. While I support the efforts of law enforcement to identify, apprehend, prosecute and punish criminals who use firearms in the commission of their crimes, I do not believe that
imposing suh a requirement on businesses is the correct approach, As you consider your options for responding to this unwarranted intrusion into your business, I know you will be looking at relocating your manufacturing operations to a stale that is more business-friendly. There is no other state that fits the definition of business-friendly like Texas.
consultants who specialize infinding the best business location for their clients Site selectors voted Texas the top state for business climate in20l1. CEO magazine reported in20l1 that Texas is the best state in the nation for doing business. Throughout 2012, Texas has continued to be the leader in job growth, due in large part to our healthy business climate. That business climate includes low taxes, afair legal system, a well-trained and skilled workforce and unmatched transportation and communications infrastructure,

In addition to these inherent advantages, Texas also offers an extensive list of fnancial incentives to businesses considering relocating to a Texas community. Those incentives include cash grants, sales tax exemptions and refunds, employee training programs and low-interest
loans,

Another advantage of doing business in Texas is that we are a right-to-work state, As your collective bargaining agreement in New York has come to an end, you might want to consider
