CONTRIBUTION TO COMMUNITY LIFE

A Get to know Women Group The group was designed for female migrants at AMES to socialize and build up relationships (to tackle isolation issues) and to empower women and encourage them in leadership roles. I led the Group in May 2008 and planned a list of games and activities for the women. The session was a great success and the women remembered each others names, characters and habits. The atmosphere in the group became friendlier and participants got lots of fun. Workshop for skilled migrants Skillmax course is designed by Adult Migrant English Service for people from non-English speaking backgrounds who have overseas qualifications, skills or experience. I decided to contribute to the team of skilled migrants and as a volunteer conducted a workshop Cooking your Dreams, this workshop was about technology of reaching goals, some participants found jobs after the workshop and I have testimonials from them. (The video record of this workshop is also available as one of the participants made a video record of this workshop). Clean Up Australia Day In March 2011 and 2012 Sydney Academy of Management participated in Clean Up Australia Day, organised volunteers and cleaned the area near North Shore Hospital.
