JOB DESCRIPTION FOOD SERVER

POSITION TITLE JOB PURPOSE

Food Server Travelodge Hotels Demonstrate your passion & flair for excellence in food and exemplary guest service, to perform daily operations in the hotels restaurant under the guidance of your manager. Food & Beverage Hotel Manager and/or Duty Manager

DEPARTMENT REPORTS TO

KEY RELATIONSHIPS Internal Hotel/Assistant/Duty Manager, Kitchen Team, Food & Beverage Attendants, General Hand, and Operations Manager. External Guests, potential guests, and delivery contractors

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PRACTICAL SKILLS Critical Proven exemplary customer service & sales skills Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills (in food, chemical, and manual handling) Strong communication skills Proven understanding of the hospitality/tourism industry Desirable Knowledge of a Property Management System (preferably Protel) Knowledge of a Point of Sale system (cashiering skills)

KEY DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide prompt and courteous service by bussing, serving, and clearing tables in the hotels restaurant/s. Greet and seat guests in accordance with established service guidelines. Effectively handle guest complaints wherever possible. Where the problem is beyond your authority, immediately communicate the situation to your supervisor for resolve. Maintain clear and concise communication with your fellow team members, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with established guidelines. Prepare, cook, and serve food at the hotel outlet as required. Maintain par levels of kitchen stock as directed by your manager/supervisor. Stock and maintain service stations with adequate supplies to service forecasted patronage, ensuring appropriate supplies for handover of shift. Perform associated cleaning duties within restaurant and kitchen operations as required (including dishwashing and stock of restaurant items). Report any suspicious or unusual behaviour immediately to management. Accurately record guests food & beverage orders and ensure these are processed accurately as per hotel guidelines. Demonstrate a complete knowledge of menu items, their ingredients, cookery methods, and cost. Demonstrate a working knowledge of hotel in-house facilities, service specifics, hours of operation, and local attractions to assist with guest enquiries. Ensure guest security and privacy is maintained at all times. Maintain immaculate presentation and grooming, wearing designated uniform and name badge at all times. Understand Toga OH&S policies and procedures, and abide by these employee guidelines at all times, ensuring that any recognised hazard/safety issues are immediately reported to your supervisor. Perform any other reasonable task or instruction as directed by management or a representative of management.
