This manual serves as a guide for the commissioning test or acceptance test. It describes what to be tested and how to conduct the test. The test items in this manual are the combination of the test items in the commissioning and acceptance test record. Each test has an exclusive number, which corresponds to the test number in the commissioning test/acceptance test report.

1 Reliability Test
1.1 Power Supply Check
Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. 2. 3. 4. The engineering construction of BBU and RRU is finished and they are ready to be powered up. The 48 VDC cable, ground cable and PGND cable of BBU and RRU frames are correctly installed. The output voltage of DC power supply for BBU and RRU ranges -40V~-57 V. A multimeter is available.

1.1.1 Power Supply of BBU and RRU

Test process: Use the multimeter to measure the voltage between two connecting terminals of the DC input for BBU and RRU frames.

Acceptance criteria: The input voltage of the DC power supply for BTS cabinet ranges 40 V~57 V.

Test description: None.

1.2 Power-off and Restart Test


Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. 2. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background 3. 4. BBU configuration data has been synchronized. Version information is saved. Two test terminals are available.

1.2.1 Power-off and Restart

Test process: 1. 2. 3. Disconnect the DC input of BBU and RRU manually. One minute later, connect the DC input of BBU and RRU again. BBU and RRU are restarted. Once BBU and RRU are back in normal running state, use the terminals to perform the call test.

Acceptance criteria: 1. The BBU and RRU can be started successfully without new un-cleared alarms 2. The calls can be normally made/received.

Test description: It takes some time for the CC board to be preheated and before the preheating process is ended, there may be new GPS preheating alarm of the CC board. Once the preheating process is ended, the alarm will disappear.

1.3 Transmission Interruption Test


Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. 2. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. Two test terminals are available.

1.3.1 Transmission Interruption of BBU

Test process: 1. 2. 3. Extract the transmission network cable from CC Eth0 port to disconnect BBU from BSC. Once minute later, insert the transmission network cable back to its original port to restore transmission between BBU and BSC. Once the BBU and RRU are normal again, perform the call test.

Acceptance criteria: 1. After the transmission of the BBU is interrupted, the BBU has no signal. 2. After the transmission is recovered, the BBU works normally and processes calls properly.

1.3.2 Optical Fiber Disconnection of RRU

The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background.

Two test terminals are available.

Test process: 1. 2. 3. Extract the optical fiber from FS to disconnect BBU and RRU. Once minute later, restore the transmission between the BBU and RRU. Once the RRU is normal again, perform the call test.

Acceptance criteria: 1. If the optical fiber of RRU is disconnected, the corresponding sector has no signal. 2. Once the optical fiber connection is restored, the RRU works normally and calls can be made in corresponding sectors.

1.4 Board Reset Test


Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. 2. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. Two test terminals are available.

1.4.1 Reset of CHV

Test process: 1. 2. Press the RST button on the front panel of the CHV board, to reset the CHV board. Once the CHV board is reset successfully, perform the call test.

Acceptance criteria: 1. The CHV boards restart successfully, and there is no alarm at the foreground and OMC after the restart operation. 2. Calls are tested to be normal.

Test description: The test should be performed in view of the actual board configuration.

Acceptance criteria: 1. The FS board restarts successfully, and there is no alarm at the foreground and OMC after the restart operation. 2. Calls are tested to be normal.

Acceptance criteria: 1. The SA board restarts successfully, and there is no alarm at the foreground and OMC after the restart operation. 2. Calls are tested to be normal.

1.4.4 Reset of PM

BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. Two test terminals are available.

Test process: 1. Reset the PA board in the Alarm Management of OMC. 2. Once the PA board is started successfully, perform the call test.

Acceptance criteria: 1. The PM board restarts successfully, and there is no alarm at the foreground and OMC after the restart operation. 2. Calls are tested to be normal.

Test description: The BTS is powered off while the PM board is being reset. After the restart operation, it takes some time for the CC board to be preheated. Before the preheating process is ended, there may be new GPS preheating alarm of the CC board. Once the preheating process is ended, the alarm will disappear.

BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. Two test terminals are available.

Test process: 1. Reset the RRU in the Alarm Management of OMC. 2. Once the RRU is started successfully, perform the call test.

Acceptance criteria: 1. The RRU board restarts successfully, auto power calibration can be made and there is no alarm at the foreground and OMC. 2. Calls are tested to be normal.

2 OMC Function Test


2.1 Configuration Management Test
Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. 2. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. Two test terminals are available.

2.1.1 Configuration Management Test

Test process: 1. Follow Guide to ZXSDR BBU & RRU Engineering Commissioning to finish the physical configuration and radio parameter configuration for BBU and RRU. 2. Synchronize the configured data to the foreground and perform initialized reset for BBU and RRU. 3. Once the foreground is running normally, perform voice call test. Acceptance criteria: 1. BBU and RRU configurations can be made in OMC. 2. Configuration data can be synchronized to the foreground. 3. Voice calls are normal.

2.2 Version Management Test


Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. 2. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. The running version of BBU and RRU are earlier than the versions to be downloaded.

2.2.1 Version Management Test

Test process: 1. Follow Guide to ZXSDR BBU & RRU Engineering Commissioning to download and activate BBU and RRU board versions: Add version->Distribute version->Activate version. 2. Reset all boards to which the versions are distributed. 3. Once the BBU and RRU are running normally, query the running versions of all boards.

Acceptance criteria: 1. All board versions of BBU and RRU can be distributed and activated. 2. Once the BBU and RRU starts normal operations, all running versions of their boards are consistent to the distributed versions.

Environmental alarm Test

3 Call Service Test


3.1 Rls A Calls
Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. 2. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. 3. Two test terminals are available for normal call service. Test process: 1. Use terminal A to call terminal B. 2. After terminal B rings, answer the call. Each of the two test engineers hold one terminal and keep the conversation for one minute. 3. One minute later, release the call.

3.1.1 Voice Call Origination/Release

Acceptance criteria: 1. The voice quality is good without call drop. 2. The call is released normally.

4.1 Environmental alarm test
Test Number and Test Item Precondition: 1. 2. The Run indicators of all BSC boards are flashing normally and Alarm indicators of all BSC boards are OFF. BBUs and RRUs RUN indicators are flashing normally and Alarm indicators are OFF. At the OMC client, select OMC system menu [View > Fault Management > Alarm Management] to open the alarm management interface, where the BSC interface is shown as not gray, there is no prompt indicating disconnection between OMP and background. Test process: 1. Make alarm artificially by commissioning engineer on-spot, and make a confirmation in OMC by BSC engineer in Switch room Acceptance criteria: there is alarm at the foreground and OMC, and alarm should disappear if artificial alarm disappear.

4.1.1 Environmental alarm test

Test description: None. (1)flood sensor in W121: some random inspections in 3 sites out of all sites in Toronto, (2)door sensor in w121 and battery cabinet: test on each site. (3)smoke sensor in W121: some random inspections in 3 sites out of all sites in Toronto.
