Service Project - Tree Planting

Austin Parks Foundation is partnering up with the City of Austin to plant sapling trees in parks. We are seeking volunteers to help with the tree plantings for Ready, Set, Plant! We will be planting these saplings to help lessen water runoff and improve water quality in Austin's creeks. Planting saplings will enable us to restore native tree and shrub diversity during drought. Small trees have small needs; seedling plantings are easier to coordinate, adapt and establish to sites more rapidly, do not require supplemental irrigation, and are less expensive than planting larger containerized trees. Dates: Thursday 2/7, 3:00pm - 6:00pm Price: n/a Register/info: austinparks.org

These are colorful celebrations dominated by ancient "mask dances" with brilliant costumes, clashing cymbals and lively social interchange. On our west to east crossing of Bhutan's central valleys we enjoy day hikes offering superb views of the distant Himalaya range, visits to remote villages known for their artistry, bustling bazaars and ornate temples clinging to cliff sides (such as the famed Tiger's Nest). Regardless of which timeframe you travel, you enjoy exceptional Bhutanese guides who open the window onto a truly magical country.
