Lonnie S. Jenkins - December 7, 2012 - Obituary - Tributes.com

Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear fellow believers, I just discovered a while ago that Bro. Lonnie Jenkins had passed away. I remember the first time I heard him give a teaching. It was at Tucson Tabernacle in 1975 or 1976, I believe. He drew 3 circles on a big white board that symbolized the body, soul, and spirit. I was new in this Message and was very impressed by the simplicity and yet profoundness of the lesson. About a year ago I wrote him a question and he answered my email right away and was very kind in his response. I was a bit surprised for I'm sure he was very busy. I read all the comments and it's certainly evident that Bro. Lonnie had the right Spirit! And though it seems like many tired warriors of the Message are getting older, and closer, soon to be plucked from the earth for His bouquet. Yet, that's what we all want...whatever it is that God wants. To always be in His perfect will and to accept His timecard for our lives. And we know there is no guarantee for tomorrow, in this twilight time when there's danger on all sides, and in every way. Brother Lonnie loved the Word. And that is what God sees...how much we love the Word sent for this day, which is our Portion, that was authorized by God to come through a humble man named William Branham, who was the voice God spoke through that's recorded on the Message tapes, that came with an infallible Message because God is perfect, and all His ways are perfect to perfect His Bride, by a perfect Message sent to prepare us for the third exodus to the Promised Land. I believe Bro. Lonnie felt the same way. May God comfort the Jenkins family and all those who are hurting at his mortal passing. God is good, His will be done. Posted by Sis. Bro. Lonnie Jenkin's teaching ministry was so precious to me, washing away wrong ideas and misconceptions regarding the nature of Christ. Words are such empty tools to express the gratitude and joy we feel in his graduation. Prayers for the Jenkins family and thankfulness for the dad and grandpa they shared with us. I will remember Bro. Lonnie S. Jenkins when he first visited Malawi in 1982, then I had read the End Time Message book but I had not yet made up my mind. I was still debating in heart where to go and I thought of joining Seveth Day Adventist because of sabbath issue, I thought they had truth after reading their book. As I was preparing to go and join them to be one of them, its when I head about a meeting that took place on Friday evening at Bangwe Church Centre, where Brother Lonnie Jenkins was preaching. He taught about True Sabbath and right their my eyes were opened and I quickly made up my mind, my heart was broken, I found myself in tears of joy because this was what I was looking for, God answered my prayer, he saw me in Malawi and send Bro. Lonnie Jenkins. To me brother Lonnie Jenkins is a great teacher I have ever seen, I salute him, for the great missionary work he did hear in Malawi. Spiritually speaking he was a freind, my teacher, my father and a hero. May his soul rest in peace. Pastor Enock Kapesi, (Blantyre, Malawi). Posted by Pastor Enock Kapesi - Blantyre, Malawi, C. A simple message from a simple person remembering Brother Lonnie and the times we had together. When my late husband (Michael Hunt) and I pastored a roughhewn church on Vancouver Island, Brother Lonnie came and had special meetings and I believe eternal things were done there, some we may not discover until we cross over. As a young Message believer in the early 90's, I had the privilege of hearing Br. Lonnie when he came and ministered in the church I was attending as well as being able to pick up some of his videos. It never ceased to amaze me how his gift was able to open up the Word of God to my young believing heart. I always looked forward to hearing him and to this day love listening to his gift as I still close the service being just as enriched now as I was then. My prayers are with his family and congregation, he will be so missed but what a privilege to have had such a man to call Dad, Grandpa, brother, and friend. May God richly bless you all. For many years we have been the beneficiaries of priceless teachings of our dear br Lonnie and shared it with hundreds of fellow brothers and sisters via dvd's. We will miss our brother but his legacy of teachings will remain precious and very much appreciated. We will remember him as a MASTER TEACHER, but humble enough to learn from others. When he closed a service by singing: "I want to live the way He wants me to live..." we knew it was a song that came from his heart and created the same desure in us. I have known and appreciated Brother Lonnie for over 35 years. His ministry was a blessing to the Saints here in Newfoundland. During the past few weeks we have been playing Bro. Lonnie's online Sermons in our Sunday Evening online Services. We are saddened by our Brother Lonnie Jenkins Home-Going, but we rejoice in that his Going serves to increase our Hunger and Thirst for The Resurrection and Rapture that we might see our Brother and have Fellowship with him again in the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless his family with this encouragment. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Gerald Lush, Pastor Bible Believers Assoc. May the Lord rest the soul of Br. Lonnie and reward him according to His Labors of Love for the Bride of Christ. Many years ago as a young man, I had given him a small offering. Upon receiving my returned check, he had signed his name and beneath it wrote, God bless you. Although a small deed, it had an enormous impression on my impressionable mind and is still speaking to me today. May the Lord repay all the love and energy that Brother Lonnie gave to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lonnie S. Jenkins - December 7, 2012 - Obituary - Tributes.com

Bro. Lonnie was a Great Teacher of this Endtime Message, as I am sure everyone that knew him would agree. No doubt many have stated this fact in their comments of him. Allow me to expamd upon this commonly known fact about this very talented man of God. The mark of a annointed teacher of the five-fold ministry, is not to confound others by their knowledge, or impress with their presentation; It is the gift, which is God given, to be able to take the hard to understand, or hidden elements of the revelation of the Word, and break it down, connect the dots, so that it becomes simple to understand. By stating this, I am in no wise taking away from the supernatural element of of receiving revelation. Revelation is God given, and cannot not be obtained by human reasoning. Bro. Branham said "God hides himself in simplicity, and reveals himself in the same" Bro. Lonnie was very talented at reaching into the simplicity of God to bring to sight that which God had hidden. With the responsibilities, and pace of the duties of life, I had not seen Bro. Lonnie in the last few years. Thankfully with today's technology, I was able to hear his ministry from places on the internet. I was always greatly blessed by his ministry, and I cherished things that I learned both from his speaking and his life ensample. He will be greatly missed. Truly Bro. Lonnie has taken his place among those Great Heros of Faith that have gone on before: "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses." We know Bro Lonnie has stepped into that other dimension and is experiencing everything he believed and taught. We feel as though a father in the Lord has left us too. Knowing him since the early days at the old Tucson Tabernacle on south Stone, him speaking to us as young people there, Jerry working for him when we were married, and renting his house on Koralee when he went to Washington. Hearing him expound the Word and seeing the great gift of ministry the Lord placed in his life grow to such a breadth and depth, and bring such wonderful strength to the Bride worldwide has been tremendous. Dear Brother Jeff, Sis.Debbie and family, We are remembering you, your family and assembly in our heartfelt prayers. Bro.Lonnie was very dear to us and we treasure the times we were able to fellowship with him and hear him minister the Word of God; so quietly and yet with such authority and power!! One time Annahope had ulcers all in her mouth and throat(she was very little). She was in so much pain she could not even drink water or take a bottle. She had become dehydrated and the doctors were planning to hospitalize her if she did not start drinking the next morning. We felt to take her to the convention and have Bro.Lonnie pray for her after the service. I remember Bro.Lonnie praying the most calm, simple little prayer. There was no great emotion, not even the raising of his voice. However when we left, after his prayer, Annahope was Completely healed and ALL ulcers had Miraculously disappeared !! She ate hot, salty, spicy food and drank within an hour!! It was a Miracle!!! Your daddy lived what he preached and signs followed his ministry! He will be greatly missed by many. Thank You for sharing Bro.Lonnie so willing with the Bride all these years!!! We have benefited from your sacrifice. It is our prayer that the Lord would move very near to you and be your tender comfort during the days to come. Dear Bro.Lonnie, Bro.Gary and I will forever cherish the words you spoke to us years ago, sitting in our home in SC.(About being careful the words you listen to, as ALL words carry spirits;how it is so easy to pick up a spirit to be deceived and not even know it) Your Godly and wise counsel prepared us for a major test that would come our way, and your advise shielded us from deception!! When our daughter, Annahope, was only 2 years old the Lord used your convention sermons -on raising/protecting children- to instruct us in how to raise our children to be Godly and Virtuous Believers. We have used that advise these past 14 years, and it HAS WORKED!!! You have been a treasure to the Bride and to our family personally!! We met Brother Lonnie in Tucson, Arizona, at the Tucson Tabernacle. We worshipped together in that church from June 1970 to March 1971. We had a nice fellowship together and we have been friends since that time. He has been a blessing to us in Tucson and also later on when he visited us a few times in Switzerland and ministered for us. He is the one who got me started on the computer. We thank the Lord for having been able to spend a few hours with him in November of last year, in Lima, Ohio. We thank God for his worldwide ministry that has been a blessing to many. Our love and prayers go to his son Jeff and his son Paul and their families and the members of the local church. May God comfort you and strengthen you in this time of temporary separation. I knew to Brother Lonnie by the Web. I was passing for a difficult time and, looking for a ministry that would help me . I came into contact with Brother Lonnie, in BCF and, since I explained my case, he was patient to deal with me, considering me, respecting me and, I believe, suffering my condition, to give me the best advice of God for my deliverance. I thank and bless to our precious God for him, giving me the opportunity to know him even for this medium of email. God be with the family Jenkins and saints there, comforting you, in Christ Jesus. Amen. Brother Emilio Lima - PERU Posted by Emilio E. Len Flores - Lima - Brother in Christ December 10, 2012

Our heart-felt condolences to the family and congregation. We have many fond memories of our Brother Lonnie. The one thing that stands out is his love for the Word and his never-ending desire to know more about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our bother Lonnie will be missed, but he said that he is waiting for us, when I watched the clip, he spoke to my heart, I never met him in person, he mailed me a few times, I would have loved to have him as a dad, but I know I'll meet him one day. Bro. Jeff, I am writing to extend our deepest sympathies, to you and your family. It was my great honour to be with him during his visit in the Philippines as well as having a one on one interview with him. My husband and I are so pleased everytime we get his reply immediately , loads of email though he is facing. These were the memories we've shared with him and I know it would continue as he left us a great impact on how we should stand in the Word of God. Our Prayers are with you. In Christ, Bro. Rudy, Sis. Pastor Jeff and family, All is well and the best thing is that he fought a good fight, kept the faith and now has been promoted on to glory and reunited with the saints and the prophet. I have so many fond memories of Brother Lonnie, but perhaps the one I'll share here is one that not so many would ever remember. It was quite a long time ago, probably back in 1999. I was a young man, newly married, and we were driving several hours to attend services there in the old sanctuary. It had been impressed upon our hearts to support a certain missionary in Russia, even though it was quite a sacrifice for us. I had spoken with Brother Lonnie about it, and when he preached that next day, he took the time in service to acknowledge our sacrifice by name as a way to encourage others to give. As someone who never really received much praise, this really made me feel quite special. Brother Lonnie always had a smile and warm handshake for me, and always took the time to answer my questions, and we shared many of the same interests from alternative medicine to straw bale house construction. I'm sure that had we been closer in age we would have been very close friends as our interests ran closely together. I will miss him and that piercing look he would give me when I would ask him a question about the Word. Posted by John Garrett - Fort Wayne, IN - Friend December 10, 2012

I will always remember Brother Lonnie Jekins. He was a great teacher of the gospel. His way of bringing the word was so special-I mean illustration. There was one Lonnie Jekins and there will be no any other Lonnie Jekins. I heard him expound the teaching on the God head it was so clear and wonderful I really enjoyed. Lives of great men will always leave memories that can't be erased from our hearts. My

He was very kind, humble, loveable by his sentences and words whenever i asked him a query...He never gets irritared or frustrated even i asked the same question multiple times, he patiently answers with his more patience...He is so humble to say sometimes that's what he understands...I love him so much and really missed him and his guidance...Always remember each and every point he has written in each email...He is really and absolutely a true and humble servant of the Lord who guided with his marvellous answers. I learned a lot of this from him and his memories with this email will not fade away and continues even after Rapture. I loved your dad almost as I loved my own dad. His passing leaves a great void in all our hearts. I can only imagine the sadness you, who were blessed to call him Dad and Grandpa, will be going through. We have but a handful of special memories of time spent with him over 30 years, you all have thousands over your lifetimes. I know we will all treasure each and every one. Just wanted to share that in the 15 yrs. that my husband has been pastor, we viewed Bro. Lonnie's teaching at our church for a service once. Besides my husband preaching we have had visiting ministers (of course) and only heard Bro. Branham's message besides Bro. Lonnie's teachings. We have prayed for you for years (24). The Jenkins family has been an extreme blessing to us and we appreciate the work of the Lord and the grace of God on your lives. The Message through Bro. Lonnie

I first met Bro. Lonnie at Ohio Camp in Aug.1998. I got to have a time to speak with him in person on a visit to my friend Vince Barnhart's home in Ohio in 1999. I sometimes communicated with Bro. Lonnie by email. I ws greatly blessed by videos of his preaching and missionary reports.Bro. Lonnie visited South Korea in the 1980s and I through a phone call to him in 1995 got the contact information for the Korean Message believers in Korea. I am half Korean and I used to visit my grandma's house in Seoul when my Korean dad and his mom were alive. In Seoul I met Pastor Bro. Suh Man-ok and Sis. Kim Jinjoo who were friends with Bro. Lonnie and I first saw from them videos of Bro. Lonnie. I spoke with Sis. Kim Jinjoo on the phone and I know that she and Bro. Suh are thinking of Bro. Lonnie at this time with love and respect. Bro. All that you have spoken and all that you taught my precious brother and now you can live that eternally with our Lord Jesus Christ. What a legacy brother Lonnie. When we see the harvest the work of BCF with Brother Jeff your son we can see that the Lord had his hand upon your ministry which we see manifested in the work carried out by BCF. The missionary work at BCF the five fold ministry, the teaching is inspirational and it is Jesus Christ in word form. I was blessed to have purchased the entire sermons preached in 2010 and watch the messages on a weekly basis. Therefore you have been very close to my heart and that of my family. Shalom and till we meet again. Brother Jeff I am blessed knowing you and your family brother. Keep up the good work. At this time of parting I wish you comfort, love, peace and strength. Brother Lonnie laboured in the Lord's vineyard, and now he's been "gathered to his people". His humility and steadfastness to the ministry of the Word have been inspirational. Looking at our brother's life, one would say, truly, God has had a witness in His people to today, even in Brother Lonnie's life. May the Lord be praised for Brother Lonnie's life; it was a gift to the world - Christian and other. We remember the family and the BC fellowship in prayers.
