Subtask 1: Teaching reading lesson plan The thing that affected me most deeply when writing a lesson plan was the concept of different types of objectives. I initially just thought about what activities to do but do not think about whether it meets the objectives or not until Ive done the teaching reading lesson plan. I think that sometimes I used learning objectives but that this was not at the forefront of my mind. I was, as detailed above, generally very concerned with choosing activities that would get students involved and active but I didnt give much thought to student learning. At first, my reading lesson plan seemed like a very confusing and unnecessary idea. I now feel that thinking about what I want students to be able to do and show me by the end of a lesson is the best way to plan lessons. These days when I plan I try to start at the back and think about what students will be able to do at the end. This helps me make the remaining necessary decisions and gives me a good start for planning lessons. Sub task 2 : School based experience During School-based experience I have learn about what to consider when drafting a lesson plan. I should know who are my pupils, know their abilities and their background. I must be prepared when unpredicted problem arouse. When I was in the class, I realize that teachers should have another plan like some people says as Plan B whenever the lesson that have planned need to change if any problems happened. Other than that I learnt about how to maintain the students attention, luckly I got the opportunity to observe abroad teacher teaching english for year one. I took a video of him on how he teaches phonics with gestures and sound and I think I would use the technique when Ill be teaching soon. The knowledge that I gained can help in developing me to be a reflective and reflexive teacher and learner who will learn through situational inquiring, theorizing, testing,
experimenting, analyzing and justifying. For example it could help me to quickly reflect on what would my students will be questioning or doing. It build up my awareness of young learness who likes to get attention from the teacher, their abilities, their background. Because awareness is important in planning a lesson. This experience gives me insight about teaching. Learning takes time for beginner teachers. As a teacher, I should realize the fact that there is no need for each if everyone knows how to learn and bear in mind the responsibility of a teacher so that I can keep myself motivated. I think SBE assist in the completion of a teacher to face situations in school that will be passed soon. I also learned some teaching strategies from the teachers that Ive observed and while being with this group of pupils. In other words, this experience is valuable.
