Application versatility
The GASMET Gas Analyzer is a powerful instrument that can be used for a diverse range of applications. It can perform simultaneous measurement of both organic and inorganic compounds, as well as analyze hot, wet, corrosive gas streams. Measurement capabilities range from low concentrations of g/m3 up to percentage levels. Concentrations of several different compounds can be measured within seconds. A corrosion resistant sample cell can be heated up to a temperature of 200 C, eliminating the additional need for complicated sample dilution or water vapour removal systems.
Signal processing electronics utilizing DSP (Digital Signal Processor) technology for high speed data collection.
The Temet Interferometer is the most reliable one on the market today. During the manufacturing process, each interferometer must pass extensive shock and temperature stability tests (20 C) without any decreases in modulation. The Temet Interferometer is so rugged that it can even exceed military vibration test standards (MIL-SDT810C, part f).
Excellent interferometer stability makes it possible to measure spectra up to 64 000 cm-1. The above figure shows a portion of an emission spectrum of a Mercury lamp measured by the Temet Interferometer with a spectral resolution of 0.1 nm @ 250 nm. This performance is unmatched by any other commercially available interferometer.
A high temperature gas cell with no moving parts gives superior mechanical stability. All sample contact parts are Gold or Rhodium coated for optimum corrosion resistance. Fixed pathlengths for accuracy and reliability from 4 cm up to 10m.
The Gold coated one-piece cell mirror is precision machined by diamond cutting to provide excellent long term calibration stability.
High optical throughput ensures high signal-to-noise-ratio. Temperature controlled, low noise DTGS and MCT detectors provide excellent sensitivity. Liquid nitrogen is not needed to achieve precise measurements.
Compact (200 x 400 x480 mm), lightweight (16 kg) design for portability. 12 VDC connector for battery operation.
The high signal-to-noise ratio of the GASMET results in accurate measurements and low detection limits. The attached figure shows part of a typical noise spectrum with 20 seconds measurement time and standard GASMET configuration. Results show 0.0001 A.U. rms noise within 2000-2200 cm-1 spectral range.

The advanced, easy to use CALCMET software provides outstanding analytical performance. CALCMET analyzes the sample spectrum, operates the GASMET, and controls automated sampling system units. CALCMET uses sophisticated multicomponent algorithms to enhance analysis specificity, allowing simultaneous detection, identification and quantification of up to 50 different gas components.
The GASMET measures both organic and inorganic gases in concentrations from g/m3 to several percentages. Cross interference effects are compensated for and analysis accuracy is maintained when analyzing complex gas mixtures with spectral overlapping. Accurate results are available within seconds. Stored spectra can be easily re-analyzed for identification of previously unknown components.
CALCMETs ability to automatically carry out spectral identification enables accurate analysis to be performed without detailed stream composition information. The software is also designed for easy and efficient processing of the results. Since water content of the sample gas is measured, the results can be reported on either a wet or dry basis.
The CALCMET software supports continuous multipoint, on-line applications. When the GASMET is equipped with a suitable sampling system, it has full capability for automatic and remote control operation. The software processes the results into a required format and offers advanced possibilities for multipoint sampling with adjustable alarm settings.
Applications
The GASMET on-site series of gas analyzers allows the power of laboratory FT-IR to be taken to the measurement site in a rugged and portable form. This allows multicomponent, real-time measurements to be made on-site. Furthermore, the user has only one instrument to calibrate and maintain. Thus the maintenance and operation costs will remain low in comparison to conventional single component analyzers.
Approved by TV Rheinland.
Remote operation Internal computer systems External Analyzers: O2 , Flow, etc Automated sampling system with heated pump and heated filter
The GASMET on-line series is designed for process control and continuous monitoring applications. Reliable analysis data is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Applications can be easily upgraded on the Temet PC.
