Starting at 10 years old, Lorna Lardizabal Dietz learned entrepreneurship skills at her familys home bakeshop in Cebu City, Philippines. Her B.S. Hotel & Restaurant Administration degree from the University of the Philippines proved to be a stepping stone to opportunities in teaching, consulting, public speaking, and creative writing. As a digital public relations specialist (since 1996), Lornas community publicity work encourages collaboration among ethnic communitybased organizations and business professionals. Lorna Dietz was the president of the Rotary Club of Fishermans Wharf-San Francisco in 19992000 (District 5150), being the first Filipina to serve in a San Francisco-based Rotary Club. She was also elected as the Executive Secretary of the Philippine American Press Club-USA for four years, starting in 2001. Lornas volunteer work in the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) had its beginnings as a co-writer of The Flames of Consciousness with Ben Menor at the Y2K2 NaFFAA Empowerment Conference. In January 2005, while serving as NaFFAA Region 8s Communications Director, she volunteered as Executive Coordinator of the highly-successful NaFFAA-organized Third Global Filipino Networking Convention in Cebu. Lorna has also served as the regional treasurer (2005-2007) as well as the regions vice chair (2007-2010). Lorna is the current NaFFAA Region 8 Chair. Among her substantive responsibilities in NaFFAA (such as National Ombudsman), it is her passion for digital technologies in communications that inspires her as website moderator for the archived national website, http://NaFFAAUSA.org, the regional website, http://NaFFAAR8.com, and NaFFAAs multiple multi-media components, including advocacy-related curated newsletters. JINNI BARTOLOME NaFFAA Region 8 Treasurer

Jinni Bartolome is a native San Franciscan whose parents arrived in the US in 1926 and 1931, respectively, and met and married here. It is very important to her that American-born Filipinos have a seat at the table and be represented in all discussions concerning Filipinos in America as she strongly believes that uninformed mainstream Americans do not distinguish between Filipinos from the Philippines and Americans with Filipino roots, such as her fifth generation grand-niece. Mother and grandmother, Jinni is an active parishioner of St. Thomas More Fil-Am Community, board member of Barangay Dance, and has free-lanced with the Philippine News.
