Introduction
The specific design and performance requirements for all electrical equipments are given in this part of the Specification. The requirements specified shall be fully met with by the Contractor. In case of any deviations, the Contractor shall bring out the same in Schedule of Deviations from Particular Requirements failing which it will be considered that the Contractor fully complies with these requirement. General requirement of electrical equipments are covered under Part-5 of this specification.

High speed, harmonic restraint percentage differential protection. The bias setting shall be adjustable between 10 to 50%. The operating time shall not be more than 2 cycles. Necessary auxiliary CTs for ratio matching shall be included. 3 nos. of instantaneous phase O/C relay with IDMT O/C relay for phase faults and one instantaneous relay for ground fault shall be provided on H.V. side of the transformers. Phase fault relays shall have a range of 50-200% of IA and ground fault relay shall have range 20-80% of IA. Auxiliary relays for indication of Buchholz relay (63 GP) operation and for winding and oil temperature (49-1, 49-2), alarm and trip. 63GP, 49-1 and 49-2 shall form part of transformer (covered under separate package) A common trip relay for all the protections. The trip relay shall trip and block closing of transformer HV and LV breakers. The trip relay shall be continuously supervised by a supervisory relay in both energised and deenergised condition of the trip coil. Restricted earth fault protection of L.V. side of transformer where L.V. neutral is grounded through low resistance.
