Abstract

This specification covers the composition and physical proper nodulated mineral fiber thermal insulation for use in attics or e spaces in housing and other framed buildings. The nodulated m thermal insulation shall be of the following types: Type I and basic material shall be fibers made from mineral substances su slag, or glass processed from the molten state into an incombu fibrous form. The fibers shall be mechanically processed into are permitted to be treated to provide improved processing and characteristics suitable for installation by pouring or pneumati applications. The following test methods shall be performed fo of initial material product requirements: thermal resistance; cr flux; combustion characteristics; water vapor sorption; odor em corrosiveness; and fungi resistance.
