Policy development committee on developing country matters, reporting to the ISO Council established 1961 Forum for the identification of needs, exchange of experience and best practices in standardization and related matters in developing countries 134 ISO members from developed and developing countries: - 82 P-members - 52 O-members Monitors the implementation of the ISO Action Plan for Developing Countries 2005-2010

Current priorities
Reaching out to stakeholders by:
Providing training in standards development and the promotion of international standards Capacity building for effective participation of developing countries in the SR process Strengthening regional activities and building strategic partnerships During the past 12 months (2008), 3 312 participants have benefited from technical assistance and training under the ISO Action Plan for developing countries

Aim: to support the involvement of developing countries in technical work undertaken by ISOs technical committees, subcommittees and working groups. Sponsorship provided to delegates from developing countries to participate in meetings of various technical committees Training events and workshops organized back-to-back with plenary meetings of ISO/TMB Working Group on Social Responsibility to facilitate developing country participation Finalization of Guidance on Partnering and Twinning in ISO Standards Development Activities by the DEVCO/TMB ad hoc Task Force

ISO/CS offers training services to ISO members in standards development practices, including tools and services supporting the standards development process Regular and Customised Courses on training in standards development are available for developed and developing countries E-learning on standards development
