dollar of revenue in tourism industry in 2011.
As the trend of low cost carrier is emerging and
new destination of flight is open, now is the right
time for getourguide to tap on this market.

It was summer 2011 when I went to
Rajaampat, Papua, for an escape
vacation with friends. Despite of
its marvelous scenery, it was quite
hard to reach there. Accomodation
and transportation was very
limited. But, that’s a challenge
for me. With a proper research, I
get to know a local guide that
accompanied us to get around the
chain of Rajaampat islands with
sail boat for 10 straight days. It
was a wonderful experience to me. I
wish there’s a service that can
offer this kind of experience, too,
in all other places in South East
Asia

We believe that tourism market in Asia will be growing faster in the next 5 years. The business
penetration in the industry will be higher and therefore there will be many more big player. If
that really happen, our exit strategy will be merging with them to conquer bigger tourism
market in the world.
What’s Next?
Getourguide needs fund of SGD $200k to compensate the expense for the first year
operation. This money will be used for the expense of operation, administrative and marketing
of our service.

MY STORY Last year I went to Phuket alone. This was not according to the plan

not according to the plan since I already
bought two tickets to go with my bestfriend.
However, at the last minute he cancelled his
trip with me. But, because i have planned
this trip for long time, i decided to stick with
the plan to go Phuket.

The story of
Getourguide
I have prepared my itinerary and everything
for this trip. I searched information from
internet, read forum and asked friend who
has visited there before. Besides that I also
booked hotel by myself. I spent some time to
do all of these.
of this, i rented a
motorcycle to go
from my hotel to
Patong beach. Unfortunately, in Phuket, it was
raining hard and the road sign was not very
clear. As a result I rode the motorcycle in
wrong direction.
This trip was disappointing
for me since many of my
plan cancelled due to lack
of information and not
knowing current situation in
Phuket. But because of this
experience, I came up with
the idea of Getourguide. I hope that if i know
a local guide that can provide me information
and help me when i was in Phuket, I can
make my trip become more fun and
enjoyable.
Then when I reached Phuket, I went to hotel
by taxi. Fortunately, the taxi driver could
speak bahasa so that i could ask information
from him. It helped me a lot to understand
the current condition in Phuket, such as its
culture, people, and tourism. One thing that
surprised me was the location of the hotel
The next day, I went to Phuket town. It was still
raining there and already evening. Because
it was raining, it became difficult to find public
transport or even taxi. My plan to visit place
around Phuket town was cancelled and i just
stayed at hotel. At night, i walked around the
hotel to find halal food. But it was disaster,
after walking for nearly 2 hours i still could not
