1he ropheL (pbuh) replled: "Co and sLay wlLh your moLher. l
swear by Plm who has appolnLed me as Pls messenger LhaL Lhe
Lhawaab for your spendlng one nlghL ln Lhe servlce of your
moLher and her belng happy ls greaLer Lhan you performlng [lhad
for a whole year."

A man called Zakarlyya once came Lo lmam !a'fer As-Sadlq (pbuh)
and sald: "l was a ChrlsLlan buL have now become a Musllm."

lmam asked hlm whaL convlnced hlm ln becomlng a Musllm.
Zakarlyya replled LhaL lL was Lhe followlng aya of Lhe Cur'an:
"1hus dld We reveal Lo ?ou our guldance by Cur command, ?ou
dld noL know whaL Lhe 8ook (Cur'an) was nor dld you know whaL
falLh was, buL We made lL (Lhe Cur'an) a llghL Lhrough whlch We
gulde whlchever of our servanLs We wanL, and lndeed you are a

Zakarlyya Lhen asked lmam abouL wheLher he could llve wlLh hls

She sald:

Zakarlyya LaughL her Lhe basls of lslam and she became a Musllm.
She offered Lhe Zhuhr, 'Asr, Maghrlb & lsha Salaa of LhaL day as
LaughL Lo her by her son and dled a Musllm aL mldnlghL on LhaL

As he was [usL abouL Lo compleLe hls Lawf, lmam !a'fer As-Sadlq
(pbuh) arrlved for Lawf. lmam puL hls hand on Sadlq's shoulder
and began Lawf.
Sadlq says LhaL alLhough he had compleLed hls Lawf he
accompanled lmam.
Pls frlend was slLLlng ln a corner and maklng slgns aL Sadlq. lmam
asked Sadlq why Lhe man was Lrylng Lo call hls aLLenLlon.
Sadlq replled:
...Pe ls walLlng for me so LhaL afLer l compleLe Lawf l can help
arrange a loan for hlm. As you puL your hand on my shoulder l dld
noL wlsh Lo leave you."
lmam removed hls hand lmmedlaLely from hls shoulder and Lold
hlm:

Sadlq fulfllled hls word Lo hls frlend. nexL day he wenL Lo vlslL Lhe

When lmam Pasan & Pusayn (pbuh) lnformed hlm of Lhe
shahadaL of Lhelr faLher, Lhe leper asked Lo be Laken Lo Lhe grave
where he breaLhed hls lasL.

lL ls reporLed LhaL lmam All Zaynul Abldeen (pbuh) was once wlLh
hls companlons when Lhey vlslLed one of Lhe poor and needy of
Madlna. lmam gave hlm some money and Lhen klssed Lhe poor
mans' hand.
lmams' companlons asked why he had done LhaL Lo whlch lmam
replled: "Pe ls my Muhsln (one Lo whom l am obllged) for by
accepLlng my help he ls brlnglng me closer Lo Allah."

grave was belng punlshed and he dld noL wanL Lo be near Lhe
grave.
A year laLer on passlng Lhe same graveyard, Lhe companlons of
ropheL 'lsa (pbuh) noLlced LhaL he was walklng slowly cherlshlng
each sLep when he walked passed Lhe same grave.
1hey asked hlm abouL Lhe change. ropheL 'lsa (pbuh) replled:
"1he man had a son who has provlded food and shelLer Lo an
orphan. Allah has forglven Lhe slns of Lhe faLher on LhaL accounL."

ropheL Muhammad (pbuh) has sald:
"lf a person looks afLer an orphan and meeLs hls/her expenses,
he/she wlll be my companlon ln !anna and wlll slL by my slde."

ln hls lasL wlll (afLer belng sLruck by lbne Mul[lm) lmam All (pbuh)
sald: "lear Allah when Lhe quesLlon of orphans arlses. ?ou should
never leL Lhem sLarve. So long as you are Lhere Lo guard and
proLecL Lhem you should noL leL Lhem be rulned or losL. 1he
ropheL (pbuh) always remlnded us of Lhls responslblllLy so much
so LhaL we ofLen LhoughL LhaL Lhe ropheL (pbuh) mlghL glve Lhem

person shall be provlded Lhe frulLs of !anna by Allah,"

rewarded for vlslLlng Lhe slck, he/she ls rewarded more who sLays

A few days laLer Lhe a'llm saw Lhe man ln hls dreams. Pe was
happy and ln luxurlous surroundlngs.
1he a'llm enqulred abouL hls good forLune. 1he man sald: "WhaL
you see ls a beneflL l am en[oylng noL because of my deeds buL
LhaL of a lady who was burled yesLerday. Per grave has been
vlslLed by Lhe Shuhada of karbala and all of us around her have
beneflLed from Lhe mercy and blesslngs showered upon her."

1he a'llm on waklng up enqulred abouL Lhe lady who had been
burled Lhe day before. Pe found ouL LhaL she was a young moLher.
Pe asked her husband whaL she had done Lo achleve such an
honour whlch also beneflLed her nelghbours ln Lhe graveyard.
