SHAUN MELODY
ust a group of friends having fun and playing music together was the idea and core foundation in forming Shaun Melody with The Seasons Band. The group was formed in late 2012 and is a mixture of musicians who are from Tennessee and The Bahamas. Playing and performing primarily Jazz and Neo Soul music, the group has embraced Nashville, Tennessee by storm. The group has performed at The Rutledge Caf, The Pearl Lounge, and weekly at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel. recording at the Pavilion Coffee House in late 2013.The group is looking to record its first single live with a small promotional tour within the southern states to follow. The musical sound of the Shaun Melody featuring The Seasons Band may be expressed as dynamic. Their style constantly engages the listener and allows for musical elements to be augmented through Jazz-fusion.

KAIROS.
You in Music Magazine had the privilege to accompany this amazing group at their gospel music showcase, Gospel Live Friday January 18th at the Pavilion Coffee House during the 2013 Stellar Awards weekend. Artist from all over were in attendance. The audience was in true worship and could not help the fact to not sit down and be on their feet. Everyone was standing and praising with joy in their hearts as they sang and clapped their hands to the music being ministered.
Psalm 150:6 King James Version (KJV) reads, Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
This message was worshiped through song. Artists had allowed themselves to be open vessels and testimonies for others to witness. Guest artists consisted of: Joshua Jamerson, Robert Persons, Wardlaw Brothers, TJ Herrick, Frozene Hayes, and Levoy Dewey. The event was also supported and sponsored by: Alliant Music Group, Music Makers Recordings, Psalms World Outreach Ministries, The Ellamy Group, and You in Music Magazine. The night had many highlights, but the most remarkable was being blown away by the soprano sax of TJ Herrick or the smooth moves and harmony of the Wardlaw Brothers. It was truly an incredible night to Figure 1. remember and rejoice in the lord. In 2012 the group was also working intensely with Music Makers Recordings, LLC in the Music Makers Studio, on their upcoming project A Kairos Christmas (Figure 1). The album is scheduled to be released thanksgiving 2013 with high hopes to have the opportunity to debut in Nassau, Bahamas at Bahamas Faith Ministries. The album is a mixture of old and new original songs arranged by Grammy, Dove, and Stellar Awarded gospel artist Nathan Young. This gospel artist is not a stranger to the Music Industry and is looking forward to the groups upcoming project to be a blessing to others. The project consists of 8 songs that are traditional, contemporary, and a fusion of different styles of music. This years Christmas is surely to be one of praise and worship. 2013 | http://www.scribd.com/YOUINMUSIC | MAGCLOUD.COM | 13
Nathan & Suzanne Young From performing in the Christmas at The White House in Washington DC during the term of the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, Nathan & Suzanne have truly used their talents and gifts to take them places they never thought was possible. They recently recorded a new single entitled: We Agree With God under Alliant Records. The song was debuted on 92.Q Sunday, January 20, 2013 and has received tremendous response. The couple is also looking to transform their Gospel Live into an ongoing televised program in years to come. Wess Morgan Some may remember the 2011 Dove & Stellar Award nominated gospel hit I Choose To Worship. The song had topped the charts for many weeks. The song was track 3 on the 2010 album Under An Open Heaven Vol. 1. However most do not know that Nathan & Suzanne Young were featured on Wess Morgans 2012 album Under An Open Heaven Vol. 2 CD, Featuring Celebration Of Life Choir. Track 3, Enter In - features Nathan Young and track 6, Something Happens - features Suzanne Young. The album also provides a club remix to I Choose To Worship. Derrick Lee "I had the distinct pleasure of mentoring this Anointed Husband and Wife Team when they 1st moved on the Nashville scene back in the 90's. Since that time they have become a force to be reckoned with. They have recorded and traveled with the Who's Who in the business and continue to tread the cutting edge in the Gospel Arena! I'm certain this new effort will continue that tradition and will be one a must for All Music Lover's Collections. [Derrick Lee, CEO/President: Dherico Music, Music Director, Black Entertainment Television]. Pastors Frederick & Erica Barr They serve as co-pastors of Power House Christian Center Church International in Pontiac, Michigan and Nashville, Tennessee. Recently they have started a church home, Life Church International, in L.A. You in Music Magazine had stumbled on this powerful and loving couple supporting a 2010 Christmas concert held by Nathan & Suzanne Young. The event was filled with friends and family as they listened to caroling and songs of joy. Contact Us: For information, call (310) 745-6801 and, or email Iamlifechurch@gmail.com. Cindy Larson Thanks for all you have and will be doing for Nathan & Suzanne and Kairos. Looking forward to a long productive relationship. Blessings, Cindy

The upbeat funky music that began in the 60s has somewhat dissipated. There are questions about the true art form of Rhythm & Blues that originated from jazz, gospel, and blues. What has happened to the artists like: Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Sade, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, En vogue, Adriana Evans, Lauryn Hill, and Floetry, just to name a few? Today, we find contemporary R&B to have a distinctly different sound from its origin. R&B music is now more focused towards pop and hip-hop beats, rather than blues, gospel, and jazz. However, there are some artists today who are an exception to the predictable pop and hip-hop beat trends such as: Alicia Keys, Tyrese, Anthony Hamilton, Jennifer Hudson, Eryka Badu, Janelle Monae, Beyonce, and now Shae Williams. The You in Music team had stumbled across this gem working on her new project UNDEFINED at AfterTouch Music Studios with Grammy nominated musician and producer, Roger A. Ryan. Her music is one that is full of life, energy, and a true expression of R&B. Also working in collaboration with the project is: 2003 Grammy winner Ruben Studdard and Grammy nominated songwriter and producer Alvin Garrett.

YIM What brought about the project UNDEFINED? SW Finally having the opportunity to write true stories through music and being able to model a character that is visually positive to everyone. I have lived by a statement, it is better to sing to a million people rather than have a million dollars. This is because a million people allow for millions of opportunities and possibilities of impacting lives. YIM How did you collaborate with Ruben Studdard and Alvin Garrett? SW Alvin and Ruben wrote towards Beautiful. Promise Ring was done between Alvin and myself. The songs states respect and an understanding of what Love is. Ready was a song that stated Im ready to be in the Music Industry. I had to create a mental stability of how to be encouraged and know that everything is going to be all right. I am walking on faith, she says. YIM Lastly, what are your plans for 2013? SW Well I will be working with playwright producer Garrett Davis through a 16-city tour stage play called Mamas Girls. It is a fun project that keeps me involved with my second admiration in the industry.

Being
a
Vocal
Clone
Advantages
and
disadvantages.
We
live
in
an
age
where
people
are
striving
to
be
creative
and
innovate,
and
while
some
are
achieving
it,
others
are
not.
I
believe
the
challenge
to
being
truly
creative
is
that
we
forget
how
influenced
we
all
are
by
our
environment
and
thus
we
recreate
many
times
that
which
has
already
been
done.
There
is
really
nothing
particularly
wrong
with
this
at
all,
it
is
the
nature
of
human
existence.
Every
singer/musician
simply
needs
to
be
aware
of
this
fact
especially
if
they
want
a
career
in
music.
Producers
are
looking
for
uniqueness.
In
other
words
they
want
YOU,
and
not
a
copy.
From
my
early
days
as
a
pianist
I
know
for
sure
I
have
been
clearly
influenced
both
by
Keith
Jarrett
(Jazz
Pianist)
and
Peter
Nero
(Classical/Pop
Pianist),
which
has
morphed
into
a
classical,
pop,
jazz
feel
which
I
have
grown
to
accept
and
enjoy.
The
positive
part
about
this
is
that
in
order
for
the
clone
to
sound
like
the
original
they
must
have
a
voice
like
the
original.
So
assuming
that
the
Original
has
a
good
voice
and
is
also
a
good
singer,
The
Clone
is
in
a
great
position
to
grow
as
an
artist.
It
is
vitally
important
to
know
that
not
everyone
with
a
good
voice
is
a
good
singer;
remember,
voices
are
given,
singers
are
made.
Also
note
that
every
famous
singer
does
not
necessarily
have
a
good
voice
or
good
singing
skills.
There
are
many
specialty
singers
in
the
world
who
have
their
uniqueness
that
should
not
be
emulated
but
shied
away
from.
So
if
a
person
decides
they
want
to
emulate
their
favorite
singer
what
can
they
learn
from
them?
Take
the
iconic
Miss
Whitney
Houston,
the
female
with
some
of
the
best
R&B,
pop
vocals
in
recorded
history.
WHAT
THEN
IS
VOCAL
CLONING
AND
WHAT
ARE
THE
ADVANTAGES
IN
VOCAL
CLONING?
Vocal Cloning is when a singer is so influenced by another they almost become them. How this plays out is when The Clone is singing the originals material they sound great and when they sing other material, unfortunately, not so good.
Note
how
she
begins
her
notes
whether
high
or
low
fast
or
slow.
They
always
sound
as
though
they
appear
from
nowhere.
This
is
called
the
balanced
onset.
When
she
ends
her
notes
they
end
with
smoothness
as
opposed
to
sounding
as
though
she
suddenly
slammed
on
brakes;
this
is
the
balanced
release.
This
smooth
beginning
of
notes
must
happen
regardless
of
the
height
or
volume
of
the
notes.
Miss
Houston
is
famous
for
her
runs
that
are
so
precise
it
sounds
as
though
she
is
taking
dictation
from
her
mind
and
is
seeing
the
notes
in
front
of
her.
One
of
the
main
challenges
with
singing
runs,
is
singing
every
note
in
tune,
and
not
sounding
as
if
the
voice
is
having
a
fainting
spell
causing
the
notes
to
slide
down
instead
of
begin
focused
and
specifically
placed.
Finally, remember these things that all singers need to think about. Posture, breath management and support, use of the jaw, opening the sound through vowels opening the throat, singing long phrases, tone, vibratoiction, pitch/intonation, performance preparation, finding your own voice, legato, projection, vocalizing, how to practice, Etc.
Wouldnt
it
be
great
to
have
the
confidence,
clarity
and
energy
to
truly
live
out
your
dreams,
to
start
something
new
that
truly
speaks
to
your
soul?
The second half of your life can be the best part. The trick is finding your flow. Do you dream about doing something new -- like starting a business? Perhaps you want to find a way to create more income, so that you can relax about your future. Maybe you want to express your true passion and give it to the world. Have your recently been blind-sided with an aging parent landing in your lap. Or maybe you received a pink-slip notice that will side track your career. After many years of marriage and trying to do the right thing, perhaps you find yourself confronting the possibility (or reality) of divorce. By the time you are in your fifties, there is no doubt you can claim some wins as well as some losses in life. Have your circumstances made you realize there is more to life? Do you want some of that, whatever it is? Are you ready for a big change with no idea where to begin? Getting Into The Flow Here are seven nuggets you can use for the basis for everything you do, so that you can get into your life flow. You can use these seven nuggets to build a platform to start over again and to create an unshakeable happiness in yourself.
You can have a new life that speaks to your soul and is a true expression of who you are. Use this list to have whatever it is you want. Use it to capitalize on what you know about yourself and how you do life. Nugget #1 How you do one thing is how you do everything. Recognizing and embracing your style is critical to finding your flow. When you deny your own style, it will disrupt the natural flow of your life energy and purpose. Nugget #2 Dont do anything you dont want to do. You have sacrificed for everyone else. Now, it is your turn to care about yourself. Recognize that you cant give what you dont have. When you dont take care of yourself, you disconnect from the natural flow of the universe and create resistance to the happiness you seek. Nugget #3 Master the inner game. Remember that you are the most important person you will talk to all day. Learn techniques to cut the chatter instantly. Putting words to your emotions will relieve emotional chaos and generate clarity for action. Nugget #4 Fan your creative fire. Have you noticed you have an idea that keeps tugging at you? This is your creative fire. It is like a pilot light. Fuel it. Turn it up. Dont let it be doused with chocolate binges, wine benders, food fits, or shopping sprees. Stay curious. Nugget# 5 Know your why. Because you are going to live longer and you have more options having enough money for the next 40 years is a concern. Then there is what if God forbid I get sick will I have enough money? How about the trip you have dreamed of for years. Find the Why that makes you cry. Nugget #6 Know your what? Something makes your heart sing. It makes you happy and lets you forget all your issues. Perhaps you need a clue about what this something might be. It is the thing people always say you are so good at this is your what. Nugget #7 Ask for help. A common denominator among many women is that they often dont know how to ask for help. They have been toughing it out for so long doing for everyone else; asking for help is a foreign concept. Applying the wisdom and support of others in our life is not a sign of weakness; rather it is taking advantage of the fruits of the universe to propel our life forward. Get clear on how you do things. Be OK with saying No. Control your mind chatter. 2013 | http://www.scribd.com/YOUINMUSIC | MAGCLOUD.COM | 19
