Weigh In: 3.1 The N.A.L.A.A organizing committee will determine a minimum length for each species of fish (in accordance to the sizes stipulated in the Inland Fisheries Act). Fish smaller than the minimum length set by the club will not be weighed. Fish will be measured with their mouths closed, from the tip of the mouth to the middle of the tail. The club encourages catch and release therefore the marshals will allow a margin of uncertainty but fish that are brought to the weigh in point that are obviously smaller than the minimum sizes set, will be penalized and points will be deducted from the team and individuals total, as determined by the marshals. 3.2 No natural or live bait will be allowed during the days of the competition. 3.3 Team members must approach the weigh in together and each member must weigh in their own fish consecutively. Fish may be weighed in earlier than the set weigh in time for that day. Fish caught will be weighed in separately. 3.4 The tail of the fish may not be damaged to ensure accurate measuring. The marshals will release all live fish. All weighed fish that does not survive will be given to the local community 3.5 Fish brought in for weighing must appear fresh and unmarked and to the satisfaction of the marshals. The Marshals shall have the right to reject any fish that appears suspect. Points will only be allocated for the following species caught: BARBEL, CARP, REDBREAST TILAPIA, MOZAMIQUE TILAPIA and BASS. 3.6 TWO weighable fish of each species may be weighed in per team each day, provided that the fish caught on the 2nd day are bigger than the fish weighed on the previous day. Fish that are obviously smaller that the previous days weighed fish will be penalized and the bigger catch disqualified. Therefore the aim of each team should be to catch the two biggest fish of each species. Only the two biggest fish of each species caught over the two-day period will be taken into consideration for the final points. 3.7 ONE FISH PER SPECIES MAY BE BROUGHT TO THE WEIGH IN TABLE PER ANGLER EACH DAY. Anglers/teams must determine the biggest fish before coming to the weigh in therefore each team is required to have a decent quality scale on board. Teams with less than 2 members are allowed to weigh up to 2 fish per specie per day under the name of your ghost(s) , provided that the fish caught on the 2nd day are bigger than the fish weighed on the previous day. 3.8 No specie identifying will take place at the weigh in. Teams must ensure that they identify their fish before bringing it to the scale. There will be someone on the bank in front of the weigh station to help with this task.
