Today, enclosed, is a one page (2-sided) summary of Handbook items which are more common questions or issues during the year. As part of the meeting on Wednesday night, I handed this out. I thought I would include it today as well to refresh our memories. Additionally, here is a somewhat random list of topics mentioned on Wednesday night: We welcomed Mr. J. Peter Slaga as SAAs new Vice President of Development. Financials look quite good. We have raised over $200,000 so far this year only $56,000 to go. Calling ALL DADS to participate in Aprils golf-a-thonso we can put that $56,000 in the bank. Stay tuned for Kick-off Party. In addition to reaching the Top 50 Status again, under greatly increased application pressure, we are Full! We welcome new families this semester, the Curry family and the Wolfe family. We also have special visitors three lovely young ladies from Argentina Sophia, Isabella and Josefina. Please welcome them into your home for an evening, or a weekend, if you have girls who are 10th-12th grade. Top enrollment numbers ever.152 students! Next year, we have openings in ONLY 1 grade. Our boys and girls middle school teams are doing great in Basketball. We have two high school boys teams which are a combination of St. Augustine and local homeschool boysthey are having fun and learning much. Over 50 students and alumni at the West Coast Walk for Life! Carthusian Day is a unique opportunity to experience a few hours of education in a very important element of the Church the monastic life. We will introduce the students to bite-sized elements of the monastic life, and teach them about some of the major orders and spiritualities of the Church. COMING EVENTS: Play (at Poinsettia Pavilion), First Holy Communion (at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel), Spring Concert (at Poinsettia Pavilion!!!) and graduation. Three tons of sand on field have begun our renovation project, making it safer. Mr. Zepeda will be on a WCEA Visiting team for Cathedral High in March. Dan Murphy foundation gift - $75,000! Several other 2,3 and 5K gifts have come in this year. Gala topped out at over $105K Colleges: Thomas Aquinas, St. Johns, John Paul the Great, Holy Cross, Cal Lutheran, UCLA with applications out to several others including USMA, Wyoming Catholic, Steubenville and Christendom. SAT are important! Study, study and more study. OPEN DOOR POLICY still in effect.always. Finally safety. We are in the process of going through a safety review and study of the school, thanks to the fact that one of the countrys experts in this field is one of our parents.
