Established in 1998 by my Dad, Bobby Govender, who is also the Director and Internationally trained who has scored over fifty years experience in the Hospitality and Catering
Industry, who's aims are to provide a Professional, Honest and Reliable Catering Service, having identified the need to expand into the Manufacturing of Frozen Bite Size Snacks and Convenience Foods as well as Sector Skills Training for the Catering and Hospitality Industry.

Metro Caterers is committed to producing mouth-watering, artfully composed food for every occasion. Our fully qualified staff are respectful of seasonal ingredients , adhere to the strictest standards of hygiene, care and excellence, ensuring that we serve only the best. We see ourselves not only as a business but as a community organisation. Our skilled permanent staff and contract workers, trained by us, come from the local community as well as all our fresh ingredients we make use of the vast network of SMME producers and distributors when sourcing our ingredients. We believe in a holistic approach to all our Service Activities.
Intermediate and final inspection is carried out on all function preparations to ensure that it is in terms of what has been agreed with the Customers. It is not a totally money motivated business, but rather on the principles of The Customers are next to God.

As a BBBEE level 3 compliant business, we take great pride in achievements. These include catering for International Delegates for high profile events such as the Department of Healths Worlds Aids Day Initiative, The SA World Cup Soccer 2010, Mayoral Civic Reception for the delegates of the Brazil/Portuguese/Reunion Island and Fifa 2014 Committee in Durban, The SATMA Awards, attended by President Jacob Zuma, Miss India Pageants, Cop 17 , City

Metro Caterers are in the process of being ISO 22000 certified and have successfully completed Phase One of the ISO 22000 certification on the 26 October 2012, we now into Phase Two of our ISO 22000 certification, this shows the Team at Metro Caterers are passionate about providing our Customer's

with catering with a difference keeping to our motto" Taste the Difference and Quality in Every Bite". On completion of the ISO 22000 Metro Caterers will be one of the first SMME Caterers to be ISO 22000 certified. Metro Caterers are members of Enabilis, The Durban Chamber of Commerce, Durban Africa, and have been part of the BATSA (2010/2011) and SA PLATO Mentorship Programmes (2012/2013), Mentor for the BATSA Mentorships in 2012, The Gold Academy Training Programme (Enablis - 2013).. What makes us unique? Our Motto is Come Alive with Every Bite, and have now included together with our Manufacturing of Convenience Foods and Frozen Bite Size Snacks our Motto Taste the Difference & Quality in Every Bite. Metro Caterers catering is mostly a seasonal business or depends on the Happenings in our Country, hence the expansion of Metro Caterers into the Manufacture of Frozen Bite Size Snacks and Convenient Foods, Sector Skills Training for the Hospitality and Catering Industry for SMME Caterers, Retailers, Distributors, Wholesalers and Supply the Catering and Hospitality Industry from retail packs to bulk packs whilst developing and sustaining meaningful relationships. Special Requests will be manufactured on request. Our current expansion will provide high-level creativity and the ability to channel our energies and ideas into something Customers will really enjoy and has no limitations to the types of foods together with Care and Customer service. We focus on dual-income, travelling professional families with hectic schedules who definitely have a need for our convenient manufactured Frozen Bite Size Snacks and Convenience Foods and those trying to strike a balance between the demands of their careers, personal lives and feeding their families will be impressed. Our most important group of Customers are those who do not have as much time as they desire to invest in feeding their loved ones and are willing to seek additional help regardless of costs. We are confident and in reality, everyone is in need of our manufactured Frozen Bite Size Snacks products that will enable us to maintain positive Customer relations. Successful Milestones Six Waitrons and Barmen, Trained in 2010 by Metro Caterers together with Human Talent Company (HTC-Cape Town) . FIFA and Match Hospitality (International Training Facilitators from Holland and Germany). All six were successful in securing job opportunities, were awarded contracts with FIFA, worked during the 2010 World Cup Soccer at the Moses Madiba Stadium on all Match days in Durban. Both my Dad, Bobby Govender and Myself, Nishie Gounden studied, trained and are members of the South African Chefs Association. Member: Myself - Nishie Gounden Mentor for the BATSA Mentorship Programme - 2011/2012 I also was trained in a Business and Hospitality Training Programme sponsored by Tiger brands and South African Chefs Association (Sept 2010 to March 2011). The business is personally supervised by the Members and the Director who plays a pivotal role in the business and manages all projects at all levels. The business has the capability and

experience to cater for both in house catering and external catering where the meals are fully prepared and ready to be served. Metro Caterers are an Experienced and Hands on Team.
