IBM PAPER ON 18TH JUNE AT NIT, KURUKSHETRA

The written test consists of three sections of Section 1: 14 min for matrices type problem consisting two problems. Section 2: 4 min for number series and it consist of 20 simple series. Be calm to do these series bcoz it has 1/4 -ve marking. Section 3: 20 min for analytical problems and 20 problems r there mostly the most difficult prob of R.S Agarwal. Be conscious in this also bcoz this section also have 1/4 -ve marking. They declared the result within one hour. after the shortlisting of the qualified student of written they call us for GD. Among 300 students only 30 student ve qualify the written. They make 2 groups of GD. The topic was: 1. Is money brings irresponsibility. 2. Shud indian engg go abroad for higher salary. They select only 14 of us for interview. In GD u should be very much confident. After lunch break they call us for interviews. There are two rounds of interviews, viz., the technical and the HR round. Technical and Personal Round for Software Candidates Mainly subjective questions in C, Operating Systems, DBMS, Data Structures are asked interspersed with some on the candidate's personal background. . Typical questions in C and Data Structures 1. WAP to interchange 2 variables without using the third one 2. I will cope up in your training program. It is very much necessary that your communication should be as good as possible. after that they qualify only 6 in technical and i was one of them. In HR they simply ask about yourself. it is just the formality but they make 2 out among us 6. and finally they select only 4. And i am one of them . Friend it is very true that one day will made for each one. i m not able to qualify the interview of WIPRO, and many others. but i qualify here one of topmost company of the world. Its all bcoz of God grace.

2) Technical Interview cum Personal Interview I would like to express my interview experience as I think it maybe useful to them who have the same dream to be an IBMer just I had.

(If u r convent student plz drop this instruction) (I am now going to provide u best of all idea to improve the English. first buy CHAOS dictionary of Marathi to English I m not selling or advertising anything(for the sake of my security) just mentioning the thing which I had done so now take the Marathi news paper or any book u like most and daily u have to translate the 10 lines of Marathi to English. Dont think about the tenses. Just go on improving ur vocabulary. My experience tells that within 5 days u will have confidence in doing all things .Hoping that u will do it sincerely.) ) Then a complicated pgm given to solve i tried it ,dont give up so early at least try something who knows ur luck supports u at that time and u will be able to solve it. Asked @ family. Why should IBM hire u? Ans: Because of my abilities like creativeness and innovativeness, learnabilty, flexiblity, .xplain with eg. How many files created after successful execution of pgm? Good!!!!! Strengths ? Like river I answered (he got impressed) Ibm: why we use main? Why not multiple mains? If main is not declared what will happen? Me: compiler will raise an error message. Ibm: what kind of error message? Me: I dont know exactly but I think it will say main function not defined/found. Then he open up with real weapons and given me 10 problems list to solve within time limit of 5 minutes. Was easy but tricky I solved luckily just to give o/p of pgm (test ur c skills helped here). ROUND 2: We were having only one interview ti+pi. my interview was at 4'O clock in afternoon.here r some questions: Tell me about yourself. what is cursor,accelerator in C. what is data structure. what is pointer. he asked me to solve 2 problems on work-time . if 75 men require 30 days how many 25 will require .both were from R.S.AGARWAL. some unix commands . your favourite subject.why. r u interested in having higher studies if you r offered job by ORACLE n IBM at the same time ,which 1 will u select.why.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW Interviewers were very cool and friendly. My interview started with my introduction. They asked some questions on my weakness. Then there were a few HR questions. Those

were very easy to answer. Then there were a few questions from technical subjects viz. Digital Circuits, OS, C and System Analysis and Design. I couldn't answer all of them. They actually look for your attitude, aptitude and learnability. Be confident and show them that you have good soft skills and adequate techical skill.Try to shift the discussion to your areas of interest if there is any scope. So, be cool, calm and confident and you'll be able to become an IBMer tomorrow. Finally, they declared the results in a gallery.

after GD was over ,they announced the results n we all were in...infact all people were in..no 1 was rejected...so u ve to speak n with confidence.... Then we were called for the personel interview.... they saw my resume..did not ask nethin bout it ..They asked me my favorite subject...N asked questions based on that...friends remember to prepare atleast 1 subject before u go for such interviews....U should brush up ur knowledge...I said OS..they asked me questions related to it....I was not able to answr them properly as i didi not revise d syllabus...But their were few questions that i answered well...u should relate ur answers with examples...They asked me if i know bout pointers n told me to write a simple swapping function... Also some questions based on UmL diagrams just becoz i had it in course...So just remember to revise 1 subject...Then hey asked me if i ve any ques for them... I initially said no sir...but they thought i was interested so they asked me to tell without hesitation...i asked them bout the work i would be doin in the company n regardin postings.... If u r already placed then they might ask u d company n why u want to join IBM??? have a good n non-superficial answer....

IBM INTERVIEW Reporting Time for Interview 8:30AM Interview started approx 9:15AM. Pre-Requisite: Two passport size photos, Two copies of Resume. All Original Documents and photocopies of their also. It was pure HR only, no technical. Interviewer asked average 3 logical/puzzle questions from each candidate. Like to swap 2 no's without using third variable, if you solved it through +(plus) and -(minus) then you have to solve without + and -. Here you can make use of divide and multiplication in place of plus and minus. I done both very easily. And you can also do. 3 bulbs are there outside the building and their switches are inside, and you have to find which switch is for which bulb. And you can go in the switch room once, and go outside the building to check bulbs one time only. Its very easy by using the concept of heat, bulb glows for a while it will go hot. First on 1st bulb and stay in room till it get heated up after a while switch it off, another switch could be kept on after previous one is made off.
