1. What was the manor? Describe what life in general was like in the manor.

The manor was like a community where there was a church, a village, a lot of farmland, and a castle.

2. What were the different classes living in and around the manors and their roles in society?

The king/queens would live in a castle that was really big and would not usually be on a manor but on a hill or cliff. The king/queen made rules and collected most of the taxes. The nobles and knights would live in a castle smaller than the king/queens that was on the manor. The knights would protect the nobles and would protect the kingdom. Peasants would live in huts, a cottage, or live with a knight or noble. The peasants would farm and take care of the land. The manor was interdependent because everyone depended on someone for something. For example, all of the peasants depended on one another for food to survive and all of the higher classes depended on the peasants to grow and gather food. The manor was specialized because most people did just one job for a living. For example, the baker would only bake bread and the

Most people would just stay at home and not travel anywhere. Life in a castle: 1. A constable would look after the castle. 2. Being a knight: I became a knight because my family has always been knights in the noble class. To train, I apprenticed someone who was a knight and they taught me the Chivalry and how to fight.
