Traces of Grace
Dear Fellow Parishioners; Bursting at the seams is how I would describe the Rite of Election at our proto Cathedral, Holy Family in Orange. Last Saturday, February 16, found 20 Catechumens and 53 Candidates from St. Edward/San Felipe de Jesus along with their sponsors and godparents, in a packed church. Bishop Kevin Vann called forth the Catechumens and Candidates asking them if they wished to enter into the life of the Church through active participation. There was a resounding yes and so those received into the Elect now begin their final phase before baptism or the reception of Eucharist and Confirmation at our Easter Vigil. We know that this does not end the journey of their faith development, but it confirms and strengthens their desire to know Jesus more intimately and live the life of sacramental graces. As we all journey into this season of Lent, pray for these good folks and their families. May they inspire us to walk with them in this season of grace. PS: Thank you to the many persons who stepped forward last weekend to volunteer for the For Christ Forever Capital Campaign. I look forward to working with you! Together in Christ;

Rasgos de Gracia
Queridos feligreses; Estaba a reventar esta es la mejor manera de describir la gran cantidad de personas que haba en la Catedral de la Sagrada Familia en la ciudad de Orange. El sbado pasado, 16 de febrero se encontraban 20 catecmenos y 53 candidatos de San Eduardo y de San Felipe de Jess junto en compaa de sus padrinos. El Obispo Kevin Vann paso a los candidatos a enfrente y les pregunto, si deseaban ser parte de la Iglesia por medio de su participacin? Y se escucho un rotundo Si y sin decir ms ellos comenzaran la fase final antes del Bautismo la Eucarista y la Confirmacin el domingo de Pascua. Sabemos muy bien que esto no es el final de su crecimiento en la fe, pero esto lo confirma y hace ms fuerte el deseo de conocer a Jess ntimamente y vivir la vida por medio de la gracia de los sacramentos. En nuestro caminar en esta temporada de la Cuaresma, pidmosle a Dios por estas personas y por sus familias. Que ellos nos inspiren y nos motiven a caminar juntos en este tiempo de gracia. PS: Le quiero dar las gracias a todos los voluntarios que nos apoyaron el pasado fin de semana con la Campaa de Cristo por Siempre espero trabajar con ustedes muy pronto.
